This is a wonderful hotel in Merano. I was very pleased with the decision to stay here. Amazing staff, clean hotel, decent wifi, and the best breakfast among the other hotels that I stayed in. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Very friendly and courteous reception. Albeit somewhat dated (carpet, chair) the room was clean and well maintained. Full breakfast buffet was very well presented and plentiful with excellent personnel. Checking-in and out was seamless. Less than 10-minutes stroll from the Merano train station and around 8-minutes to the historic city centre core where countless cafes and various restaurants could be found. Overall, the Grand Hotel Bellevue contributed to my enjoyable Merano stay.

Hotel is super central. Staff is very kind and friendly. Room are spacious, only drawback: didn't find a fridge in the room or a way to control AC.

Nostalgic but not comfortable. At least not if temperatures in room remain above 24 C all night, and your choice is to listen to drunk youth and the public bis stop service under your opened window all night, or swelter in the sweet room deodorant all night. A four star hotel without aircon or ventilation, without restaurant, swimming pool or fitness room, without in-room fridge or coffee/tea facilities, ironing board, WiFi working at dial-up speed,...? It may be a nostalgic trip back in time, but does not make for a great night on your trip. Grand appearance of former glory, albeit faded, and ambitious staff cannot make up for the lack of investment over the last few decades. Enjoy a decent breakfast and the personal service, and appreciate even more the mod cons your next stay at an up-to-date 4 star property has to offer.

Lovely nostalgic hotel close to centre
A hotel that really gives the sense of old Merano. Lovely hotel, fabulous service. Good safe and secure parking, comfortable, clean room - if a little hot - and only a 3-5 min walk by the river to the very centre.

Old, charming building in a great location (close to downtown/termes). The rooms/ambiance were a bit outdated, and the carpet could use a vacuum, but the hotel did its job.

Grand Historic Hotel W Exceptional Service
Delightful old-world charm with superior service. Room was huge, bathroom also spacious. Elevator avail to upper floor, which was helpful with hurt knee. Breakfast was served in beautiful dining room with attentive service. Breakfast buffet was comprehensive. Hotel staff were exceptional & helpful. Walking distance to center of town with great shops & restaurants. My favorite hotel on our trip so far!

Classic charm
A classic older hotel, with the very elegant chandeliers in the lobby and the large dining room and bar. The staff were all excellent, friendly, spoke German, Italian, and English. My room had a balcony and was comfortable, though older which if you appreciate it like I do, it's a very comfortable and quiet hotel. If you only want a modern hotel than you'll be happier someplace else. Excellent breakfast buffet and service.

Nice old-fashioned hotel
Reminiscent of grand central European hotels, we felt like we were on the stage set for the movie, the Grand Budapest Hotel, complete with a very accommodating waiter who seemed right out of the movie. Nice place to stay, about 3 blocks from the Terme Meran baths.

Very good location, five minute walk to the train station and a ten to fifteen minute walk to the center of activity, which includes the Spa complex...A very nice three days.

One of the worst night's sleep of my life. Avoid!!
The hotel has no air conditioning and we were put in a south facing room just under the roof. It was over 33 degrees in Merano and we left the windows open all day but the room was still like a sauna when we returned at 10pm that night. We tried to sleep with the windows open but it is an extremely busy area from a traffic point of view and there were homeless outside shouting and screaming and blaring a radio. I spent most of the night soaked in sweat. The mattress was dreadful (softer than a marshmallow) and we both had pains in our backs the following morning. To top everything off we were told we could park behind the hotel but the following morning was a market so our car was towed and it cost us €140 to get it back. The hotel hasn't been renovated since the 1960s. It is completely overpriced. They didn't even ask if we enjoyed our stay. Avoid at all costs!!!!!

A very pleasant stay in a very well maintained hotel. The weather was unexpectedly hot, and our room did not have air conditioning, so it was warm. Otherwise, a first class experience.

Meran Bike Tour stop
Great hotel. We were biking through Südtirol when we stayed here. Very convenient to downtown. Great breakfast. Old beautiful building. Room wasn't four stars but I would stay here again. Great hotel staff. Danke Euch!

Very pleasant stay
Got what seemed like a very good deal for a busy time in Merano. Hotel may have had grander days, but room was just fine, staff helpful, nice included breakfast. GREAT LOCATION…not even 10 minute walk to city center, not even 5 minutes to train station and the all important associated bus station that provides links to all the towns in the valley. Would happily stay again.

Das Einzelzimmer war sauber und ausreichend groß, auch im Bad war viel Platz. Die Einrichtung war da und dort etwas in die Jahre gekommen, was aber nicht wirklich gestört hat. Ein großer Pluspunkt war die Klimaanlage, die nahezu lautlos und ohne Zugluft arbeitet. Bei Außentemperaturen von 34 Grad (Mitte August) war das sehr willkommen! Das Frühstücksbuffet entspricht dem Standard für diese Hotelkategorie (aber auch nicht mehr). Die Lage (kurze Fußwege zu Bahnhof und Innenstadt) ist hervorragend und ideal für Reisende ohne eigenes Auto. Alles in allem ein empfehlenswertes Hotel mit einem (für Meran) sehr guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

Enttäuschender Aufenthalt, kein Adults only
Grundsätzlich ein schönes Hotel mit Charme. Personal vorallem im Speisesaal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Ich wurde nachts wach, da sich ein Paar im Zimmer nebenan fürchterlich gestritten hat, das Ganze ging über zwei Stunden. (Für das Verhalten der Gäste, kann das Hotel nichts). Leider wird zudem die "Adults Only Policy" im Hotel nicht eingehalten. An beiden Tagen meines Aufenthaltes waren Kinder in den Räumlichkeiten des Hotels (Lobby & Speisesaal) zu sehen und zu hören. Ebenso wurde mir bestätigt, dass sie Kindern Unterhalt gewähren, wenn die Eltern das Kleingedruckte nicht lesen und mit Minderjährigen anreisen. Die versprochene Dienstleistung eines Adults only Hotels wird somit nicht eingehalten. Ich bin enttäuscht und werde dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

Esperienza fantastica in questo hotel storico di Merano. La posizione centrale permette di muoversi a piedi in tutta la cittadina; l’accoglienza del personale è stata ottima; stanza e colazione come da descrizione. Sicuramente è un soggiorno da ripetere; complimenti
