It’s a lovely hotel. A little bit dated now, in places, but overall really nice in a nice setting and location. The staff were friendly although there were a few occasions things were asked for and not delivered on. I put this down to them being young and maybe not fully engaged with their roles. Could maybe do with some senior leadership to raise standards to where they could easily be. I would recommend and I would stay again. Just manage your expectations. Don’t expect the best. But overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I paid for breakfast both mornings. The food quality was great but often things were missing and not replenished. A little disappointing at £16 pp price point.

Very tired and scruffy looking hotel. Website photos are very misleading, the exterior paint is all flaking and in desperate need of some maintenance. The dining room,whilst very grand has threadbare and stained chairs.
The bedroom was just about ok apart from rumpled carpet and the squeaky bedsprings. The bathroom was clean.
The positive was the breakfast, which was really good, quite a pleasant surprise as I was prepared for it to be as shabby as the hotel.
The staff are pleasant and welcoming.
All in all I would not return or recommend this hotel, especially as it was not particularly cheap.
