I wish I got to stay more than one night. This is a beautiful property. Free parking was a plus.
The neighborhood is a bit far from the city center, which might be its only drawback. It’s easy enough to catch the metro only a few blocks away.
Very clean and well maintained property with parking on-site. Friendly staff with excellent blend of rustic and modern appearance in and outside the rooms.
The location is not ideal if you want to be close to all the famous attractions. 10-minute walk to the train station plus 20 minutes train ride which includes one transfer. Our room was finally ready 2 hours after check-in time and even with that, there was no conditioner, lotion and we ran out of facial tissue. Not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. We stayed in a junior suite and while it was fairly large, the room was dated and smelled of mold. Other than that, the staff are really nice and helpful especially the shuttle driver who took us to and from the train station.
Greater than 600 year old building with original frescoes, tastefully updated.
I appreciated the EXTREMELY HELPFUL English speaking staff, food which was awesome.
Caveats:
1. San Giovanni Sesto is about 7 miles from the central Piazza of Milan.
That 7 miles may take 30-60 minutes for transfer by taxi.
2.Advertised to have a pool(one reason I chose to stay there).
Pool is for ambience- lit fountains at night. No swimming.
100% lovely nonetheless.
The hotel as such is great; rooms, breakfast and bar but what really makes it a top hotel is its personell and I especially would like to mention Stefano who always deliver the best service with a smile and humor.
Visited for 4 nights for wedding anniversary, stayed in Spinola room 1. Clean room with big TV and large bathroom. Massive bath tub with separate shower.
Professional staff, who were always on hand.
Shopping centre just across the road.
Used the metro from Bignami to get into the centre, bought a 3day travel card to get around.
Stayed 4 nights in Oct 2025

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The hotel looks very nice from the outside and in the lobby. However once in the room the furniture is very beat up. The shower did not work correctly, there was no way turn on the rai shower head and when I tried to adjust the water temperature the knob came off in my hand.
The staff was very pleasant though
This 17th century building feels grand but cosy. The addition of modern, glass, courtyard walls keep the heat in while leaving the impressive architecture visible. I enjoyed my stay and had a lovely dinner.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the barman.
We had an excellent stay at this elegant hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were professional, friendly, and attentive. They treated us exceptionally well and made us feel welcomed throughout our stay.
The hotel restaurant was truly outstanding. The dinner was beautifully presented and delicious, easily one of the highlights of our visit. The quality of both the food and service reflected the high standards of the hotel.
Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The bed provided an excellent night's sleep, and the dedicated work desk was a great feature. The bathroom was well-designed and generously sized, adding to the overall comfort of the room.
We also enjoyed the outdoor courtyard, which offered comfortable seating, umbrellas, and shaded areas—perfect for relaxing with a drink or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. For electric vehicle owners, the hotel provides two charging stations in the parking lot, which was a convenient amenity.
The only minor issue was that the hotel entrance can be easy to miss when driving, especially if it is your first visit. Better signage would be helpful. However, this small inconvenience did not detract from an otherwise wonderful experience.
Overall, this is a beautiful, upscale hotel with exceptional service, excellent dining, and comfortable accommodations. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
Deluxe and superior roooms were beautifully appointed, spacious, and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were very nice, the Chef is notable. Excellent bar tenders, well made drinks. Hotel Staff were helpful and professional.
And the hotel was a beautifully restored historic property. For reference: We had 6 rooms, we travel monthly, we've been to Italy many times, and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you. Dawn and friends.
Very nice and classic building with historic value and a gorgeous garden. Friendly staff. Close to a park and a shopping center, with the metro not too far.
It's a very unique place where the service and food combination get you to return again.
The first expression telling you it's the right place to come as in entrance there were fresh flowers and friendly staff.
The bar offers you a variety of drinks with small fresh food fingers.
The restaurant was a great experience with extraordinary great risotto Milanese and main courses fish or meat all exquisite.
The hotel was great. The staff were excellent , very friendly and helpful. The only thing we did not like was that we got a handicap room which we did not requested. We paid gif regular room. That was disappointment. The water in the shower was cold.
