Lovely old house. Well equipped with everything you could need. Could do with coat of paint here and there and sign at front door needs redoing as difficult to see from road when driving past

Excellent and peaceful location, very convenient for the beach.
Excellent and peaceful location, very convenient for the beach. Had all that we needed for a lovely and relaxing holiday. Windows need replacing so we could better see the beautiful scenery through them, otherwise no complaints.

Hartrees House ticked all the boxes in our Pandemic holiday wishes.
Hartrees House ticked all the boxes in our Pandemic holiday wishes. We wanted to be away from crowds and close to beaches. This location was perfect for this. I wanted to visit Barrow in Furness museum so could easily use the local railway station to do this and it was a regular service and very cheap. The house had plenty of space and all the equipment we required of our stay. It is clearly better suited for a large family but was very comfortable for two couples. The proximity to the beach is excellent and this house offered the peace and quiet while remaining comfortable which we wanted. The flies were a nuisance but easily dealt with by the judicious use of a spray. I assume this is a seasonal issue. The local pub (the Miners Arms) does very good beers and a good quality menu of food with an outside beer garden to enjoy while social distancing. We would go here again.

Hartrees House is great for a family get away.
Hartrees House is great for a family get away. We was disappointed as the property is a five bed house but one room was locked. It would have been even better if the other room was useable as we had some guests come to visit us who had to sleep on the floor which is not ideal. However, the property has everything you need to enjoy holiday in the Lake District. Especially the kitchen and dining area was ideal as we could all sit together and enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner together. The only negative thing was there was so many bulbs not working so it was rather dark in the house during the evening. Apart from this we would certainly book this house again.
