"The Poas Volcano Lodge is a magnificent piece of architecture. The rooms are huge, the beds and other furnishings are all top quality, and the woodwork is very impressive. The common areas are grand and inviting, the grounds are verdant with a few impressive sculptures. The off-season rates are very reasonable. We loved it! The one area that has room for improvement is the restaurant. Although the staff was very friendly, the meals were average at best. There seemed to be poor communication between the front desk and the restaurant staff regarding pre-ordered breakfast."

"Everything at Hotel Pibi Boreal was beautiful! A small neighborhood hotel at the end of the road the rooms overlook a beautiful jungle area. The owners were very welcoming and attentive with timely and courteous airport transfers - even at 4am. There was a minibar and in room coffee and I was even able to a get a warm sandwich since my travels meant I missed lunch. With nice clean bedding and a wonderful balcony it was a beautiful stopover at the end of a wonderful week. "

The staff were very kind and welcoming, and the room was a comfortable, spacious place to unwind after a tiring day. It’s an ideal stopover spot if you need a clean, convenient, and well-located place to rest before heading back out on your travels. Highly recommend for short stays!"
