"This was misleading advertising on Hotels.com. I selected a tent with 2 queen beds and a bunk bed for about R1700. Just before we arrived I got a call from the hosts and let them know that 2 friends would arrive 30 minutes before us. I was told that I would have to pay an additional R790 for them because they charge extra each person over 2. This was not made clear on the app. This accommodation was not worth over R2,500 for the night. Unhappy guests who feel ripped off."
"We had a magical stay in Firefly cabin. It was tranquil with a delightful view. The wood burning stove was essential and perfect. Great location for visiting the nearby wildlife sanctuaries."

"Superlative and ultimate calm resting place for those whio need a base in Pleetenberg region, just off N2 en route to Tstiskama. Excellent clean facilities- swimming pool, kitchen,
lounge, bbq and of course rooms. The view over the bay is beautiful and has its own private walkway to the lagoon. Its located within a secure enclosed golf course. However the icing on the cake is the owner Kasia, who shows unbelievable kindness, care and attention, as she ensures you arrive safely and then will...
"Check-in and reception staff were very accommodating. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean with a great attention to detail. The bed and bed linen were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, beat poached eggs ever. Will be back there on our next travels through the garden route. "

"This was the most beautiful hotel we’ve stayed at in a long time. We are frequent travellers and we stayed in some lovely hotels in South Africa but this was most definitely the top.
The rooms were stunning as was the whole hotel.

"Our stay at this hotel began promisingly with a comfortable room, friendly staff, and good food. However, this positive experience took a sharp turn when we returned to find our room door wide open, with all our valuables—electronics, passports, clothing—exposed to anyone who walked by. Given that our room was less than 10 feet from an occupied room and only 50 feet from a restaurant open to the public, this situation was both unsettling and unacceptable.
I immediately went to the reception, where the initial response was that housekeeping must still be in the room. This wasn’t the case; the room was empty. Eventually, a manager arrived and explained that an unexpected electrical issue required workmen to access our room throughout the day. Despite having our contact information, the hotel had failed to notify us about this, leaving our belongings vulnerable and exposed. The manager assured us the room was supervised all day, yet we returned to find it entirely unsecured and unattended—a direct contradiction to their assurances.
This incident highlighted a complete disregard for guest security. Although we received a half-hearted apology, it was clear that guest safety was not a priority. Had we not been checking out the next day, we would have left immediately. If you value the security of your belongings and peace of mind while traveling, I would strongly advise booking elsewhere."
