We stayed three nights. The room was fabulous, and the staff at the front desk very helpful in suggestions for how to spend our days. The breakfast was very generous and David makes a lovely cappuccino.

Fantastic summer holiday
The hotel is a traditional one and has been maintained to a great standard . Great care in retaining old architecture and to a very high standard. Service was really good and helpful with places to see and restaurants to visit.

You will not want to leave.
We were staying at the hotel as we fitted out our new apartment. After 7 days at the Francia e Quirinale, my wife and I did not want to leave. The hotel is beautiful, with elegant public rooms and updated but still elegant rooms. All amenities were spotless. The staff were always friendly, greeting us with smiles and offers of service. The dining room service was impeccable. And the barman, Roberto, treats everyone like family. The special attention and extra mile of service never needs to be requested, it's always spontaneous.

Receptionist on our arrival and last night of our stay, was excellent, and so was the night manager, both friendly and helpful. The young lady in the restaurant, for breakfast, and lunch, was very pleasant and helpful, she always went out of her way to help us. If I was to come back to this area, I would definitely stay at this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and very much enjoyed my stay there. The breakfast is excellent and I will miss the delicious olive oil lemon cake. Everything is perfect except they could improve their wifi service.

Overall a good experience. Hotel located on a nice quiet street, 10 mnt walk to shops and restaurants. Hotel itself is old, but renovated and clean. Not a high end 4 star, but decent. Accommodating staff. Bathroom was super small. Good breakfast with plenty of options

I booked a deluxe room which was perfect! The shower was huge. Very comfortable bed. The air conditioning was very efficient and quiet. Breakfast was great with lots of choice.

The Grand Hotel F & Q is very convenient to the central area. A very easy walk. The property itself is very much loved & cared for. The staff is wonderful. Our Gate 1 Coordinator is very knowledgeable with a warm personality. Looking forward to a great trip.

Best kept secret ..visit Florence but stay here
This was our second visit. I can't say enough about this lovely hotel. The room, service, food and overall hotel experience was charming and very personal. The staff, and even the owner, take the time to chat and make sure that you feel like you are visiting a friend rather than an impersonal hotel. The location, and amenities were great. The staff in particular front desk and bar were very friendly and helpful. We stayed for 4 days while visiting Florence. The train stations a 5 min walk, and the train take under an hour to deliver you right in the centre of Florence. The costs ( 6Euro) was well worth the lack of stress in driving and parking fees. We used the 50 min train ride to plan our route and research which attractions to see each day. We also spent a day just relaxing at the hotel pool, which is gorgeous. Montecatini is just busy enough to give you a sense of being on vacation without the elbow to elbow experience of Florence.

Ruby Wedding
Our first visit to Francia & Quirinale was for our Silver Wedding celebration in 2003 and we had such a great time that we have celebrated every wedding anniversary since then with them. This year was our Ruby Wedding anniversary and we were there again but this time with our family. The hotel staff made such a fuss and accommodated our every request, including opening the restaurant up for early breakfast when the younger members of our family went to the Park Run in Lucca. Thank you for a wonderful experience and see you again next year.

Very central hotel.
Only stayed for 1 night and the reviews had been very good so went for it. The Classic room we were allocated 101 was tiny and the ensuite wasn’t big enough to pick up a cat let alone swing one. The toiletries were very poor for a 4 star grade. Tiny bars of soap and a refillable bottle of shower gel/shampoo in the shower.

Superb hotel in Montecatini
From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very welcome, check in was quick and easy and soon we were in our beautiful deluxe room which was spacious, modern and very comfy bed. Staff were friendly, attentive and helped us secure our next trip to Montecatini next year direct. Can’t wait to return. We were right in the hustle and bustle of the bars and restaurants which was great. The funicolore is only a 10 min walk and you can go up to Montecatini Alto.

Very friendly and helpful staff that made you feel very welcome. Room and hotel in general was very clean including the pool area. Good location being a 10 min walk to centre with several restaurants close by. Only downside was no kettle in room but that would not put me off returning to this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made such a fuss of my 11mth old son it was lovely. Unfortunately the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. I was also disappointed with the room in that it was quite small, the balcony doors didn't close properly so we had a lot of road noise and the shower leaked and the plug did not drain properly. We also had a leak from the air conditioning twice. It didn't ruin our stay but felt a little disappointed considering it's a 4* property. Location was excellent for where we wanted to be.

Short trip to Italy
This hotel was recommended to us by a friend and it exceeded our expectations when we arrived. The staff were very friendly from the reception staff down to the cleaners and couldn't do more to help you. Our double room was huge with an extra room attached which was big enough for another person to stay but it could also be used for late night reading, watching tv or as an extra sleeping space. The bathroom was ideal with a large shower cubicle and was always cleaned to a high standard and the breakfast downstairs in the morning was more than enough to keep you satisfied until tea-time or even your evening meal. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough :)

Fantastic stay at Montecatini Terme
Overall we had a fantastic stay at Grand Hotel Francia & Quirinale. We are two adult couples in our late twenties and we were looking for a place to stay in Tuscany that was in easy reach of all the cities but with minimal driving. The most important thing for us was bars and restaurants within walking distance, as nobody wanted to be the designated driver! Pros: - Nice pool area, not too crowded. - Staff really nice, especially Roberto in the bar. - Rooms very clean. - Really excellent location - we went to Pisa and Florence by train. (We hired a car for two days for Siena and hilltop towns.) - Lots of fantastic bars and restaurants nearby, plus the charming funiculare to Montecatini Alto. - Good Wifi. Cons: - Breakfast was very average. - Hotel bar lacked atmosphere, but there are plenty of other places to go within just a few minutes' walk. A few minor irritations, if I'm nit-picking: - The hotel will not lend you an iron. - No bathrobes in the room. - We upgraded to a balcony and could have used a little table or something to help us make the most of the space. - There was no minibar but there was a fridge which was stocked with some water. In other hot country hotels this has been complimentary and it did not state anywhere it was chargeable, but at the end we got a bill of 2 euro per bottle - a lot over 10 days! - Bathroom toiletries consisted of one large squirty bottle of watered down shampoo/shower gel. Not 4* standard.

Great stay
The hotel is located in a perfect spot. Close enough to the action but far enough to be quiet. The room was small, but very clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is gorgeous, and the pool area was great for early morning, and evening swims. The breakfast was okay, but I expected more based on the cost and appearance of the hotel. We had a great breakfast at a much cheaper hotel outside Perugia a few days ago.

Great welcome from staff who continued to be helpful throughout our stay. Hotel is situated close to everything you need in Montacatini with nice walks in nearby park or a trip up to Montacatini Alto. Easy train access to Florence, Pisa and Lucca. Lovely public areas in hotel, sit and relax, dining or bar. Bit of noise from nearby building. Great stay overall

Wonderful Staff
We were traveling with a group and they had us booked at another hotel that was dirty and unsafe. We found this hotel and hotels.com and it moved at 10:00pm at night. The staff went out of thier way to get us into our room and even opened us the dinning room so we could have a full dinner! Rooms are cute and comfy and clean. Area has some really cute shops and local culture.

The hotel is not bad but really wanting modernization. Staff are excellent, room clean, location good. Only one room with a proper big mattress. All others have two small ones moved together
