Ocean & Sunset view retreat with hot tub

This beautiful modern home sits on one acre of land, facing the Pacific Ocean and has beautiful water and sunset views. The main floor has a high open beam ceiling, dining and living room, white oak wood floor, big gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and commerical gas cook top and double oven, half bath, open floor plan, large deck with ocean and sunset views and big table and new BBQ.
The master bedroom has a new king bed and an electric fireplace, the second bedroom has one queen and one single bed and there is a double bed in TV room.
There is a separate outdoor spa area with privacy, ocean and sunset view, large hot tub and enclosed outdoor shower with on demand hot water.

The house is in a quiet location where you can hear the waves and the sea lions. There is great walking and hiking in Big Sur and directly from the house; shopping and dining in Carmel,only 10 minutes away. Whale watching along the coast or take tour from Monterey Harbor.
The world famous Monterey Aquarium is 20 minutes, Monterey airport 15 minutes, San Jose airport 1 1/2 hours and San Francisco 2 hours.
Hearst Castle is 2 hours south; Highlands Inn Hotel with oceanview restaurant is 2 minutes away.

Great location, ideal for a romantic getaway, fun to share with another couple or for a small family, or small family gathering or for local events.

Incredible vacation

This was the perfect house for our vacation. The house is well appointed and user friendly. Beautiful fireplace. Incredible views. The outdoor shower and hot tub were a wonderful bonus. We would choose to stay here again without question.

Awesome Property

We really enjoyed the main floor with the wonderful ocean view. Loved the wood paneled vaulted ceilings and all the windows and sky lights that let the light pour in. Enchanting. Beautiful artwork and decor as well with live plants and orchids. Weather during our stay did not allow for using the nice outside space on the deck. We didn't cook any meals, but the kitchen was well equipped. Bathroom supplies were abundant. We were surprised the bedrooms and main bath were all downstairs from the main level. The bedrooms were basic but comfortable.

Incredibly beautiful and relaxing!

My wife and I have stayed at vrbo listings for many years, and this by far has been our best vacation. We were looking for a place with a view of the ocean, and we got that and so much more. We spent a lot of time on the deck eating dinner, reading books, and admiring the ocean sunsets. A beautiful hummingbird visited me daily to get the red flowers about a foot away from my lounge chair. I took a hot shower first thing in the morning on the private hot tub enclosure and then sat in the the hot tub to begin my day. We went on some great hikes in Point Lobos, Partington Cove, Andrew Molera, and the beach at Gerratapa and Carmel. We even used the complementary tickets provided to go the the Monterey Aquarium, really special. Lots of wood is provided and we had several warm fires as Carmel gets a bit chilled at night. As others have said, everything is provided you can imagine. Carmel about 10 minutes away had some great restaurants too. My wife and I wanted a chance to get away and connect and this sure fits the bill. We highly recommend this getaway!

Private spot with amazing view

I stayed here with my sister and her wife for a long weekend. It felt like a private oasis in the woods but was close to Carmel by the Sea and everything we were wanting to see in the Big Sur area. Amazing views of the ocean. Very clean. There are some nuances to be aware of if you want to cook (having to light the pilot, lighters are provided), and use the hot tub (the jets may come on to circulate the water if it drops below the pre-set temp). You have to drive up a pretty steep hill, I'd recommend trying to do it in daylight the first time to get the hang of it.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was as advertised and more! It was out of the way and very quiet, but within minutes of town. The kitchen was stocked exceptionally well, with everything you’d need to cook a gourmet meal! Karin was a very gracious host!

Great private location that's close to everything!

Everything was great! The view is amazing! The Kitchen and all amenities are very thoughtful. Everything we needed was right where it was expected. The hot tub is private and secluded. Hope to stay again some day!

Absolutely Fabulous!

We had a wonderful stay here! The house is on a large, lush and quiet property up on a hill and has a great view of the ocean. We saw some of the most beautiful sunsets from the large deck. The house is darling and is so clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The beds are really comfortable with nice bedding and pillows. Close to hiking locations and to the shopping and restaurants at Carmel-by-the-Sea. Check in was simple and the host was very accessible for any questions we had. We will absolutely be returning! Highly recommend!

Amazing

I spent 3 nights with my mom and daughter. The house is beautiful, perfectly comfortable, and lots of little touches to help you enjoy it thoroughly: flip flops of all sizes provided to get to the spa area, tons of towels, robes, binoculars and Audubon guide, and more. I also appreciated the beautiful container plants all around the property. Well done!

Karin’s place is beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked and the views from the house and hot tub were stunning. The beds were really comfortable. Communication was great. Be mindful that smaller cars may struggle to drive up the steep road to the house but otherwise great!

The property itself is incredible. Too many great things to list them all but I’ll start with a couple. #1 Outdoor warm shower right next to the private fenced in spa that has lounge chairs and a great view. #2 The deck on the main house has views And sunsets to die for. #3 A great kitchen with very upscale of appliances and every cooking utensil you can think of to prepare gourmet meals. #4 Very close to downtown Carmel, but far enough out where you feel very secluded. #5 The host was incredible. Gave us tips on hiking restaurants, and anything that we needed. I could go on and on, but all I will say is it’s one of the best VRBO we’ve ever stayed in and we stay in a lot.
