The McCall House-old Montreat charm
The McCall House was built in 1907 and has been in our family since 1917. It has been designed and furnish with vintage Montreat comfort in mind. The rooms are spacious with tall ceilings. A front porch with rocking chairs and delightful back patio are special features. A busy stream is just a few feet away and Lake Susan about a 12 minute walk. The house sleeps 13 and has a well designed and supplied kitchen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! House had everything we needed! We had seven adults and three children… With plenty of room for all! Rocking chairs on the front porch were a perfect spot to sit and view the deer around the neighborhood. Even saw a beautiful black bear!
Many thanks to Elizabeth for sharing this house and for making sure our stay was perfect! Can’t wait to return!
When we walked into the house for the first time it was like going back to visit our grandmother's house. Our family ages ranged from 11 years old to 90 years old and we all loved the cozy feel of this house. No tv's (which was great) and so quiet at night, it was wonderful.
If you are planning on visiting the Asheville area I highly recommend this property for your large family gathering. It is an easy 30 minute drive to Asheville and the town of Montreat and Black Mountain where the house is located have fantastic shops, restaurants, Ingles grocery store, anything you would need. We had a family with 10 people and with the 5 bedrooms and 4 baths, it was a great stay. Owner was very prompt on answering questions.
We cooked most of our meals in this house with a well stocked kitchen. Kitchen is small but had everything we needed to cook. Parking is a little tight but we had 3 cars and it worked out fine.
Extremely satisfied with this VRBO.
This is a lovely historic Montreat cottage, with plenty of room and is well equipped for a stay. It is in a lovely location within walking distance of Montreat Conference Center and local activities. We have enjoyed staying here on multiple occasions.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the McCall House - a well-cared-for historic Montreat cottage. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of room, and the house was well furnished and supplied. There was a lovely front porch and a nice back patio. We would definitely consider staying here again!
It was OK, nothing was terribly wrong, but the entire house is dated, kind of tired. It wasn't bad but the kitchen and all bathrooms were old and not up to date.
