"We enjoyed our recent stay at the La Quinta Hotel in Boone. Beautifully and tastefully updated rooms and property. The buffet breakfast was excellent, our room and the common areas were clean comfortable. The bed excellent and the staff was helpful and efficient. Only wish the ac/heat unit in room was not so loud as it shut down then restarted, waking us up during the night, the unit looks old and ready for update. And the constant loud fan in the bathroom with no way to turn off and have the light on was an issue for us. Never encountered that before. But that being said, I would recommend this hotel and would return, next remembering to bring my bathing suit to enjoy the inviting indoor pool and hot tub."

"Lovely property right in the center of town so easy access to the restaurants and shops. The town was seasonal decorated & Blowing Rock Memorial Park was full of blooming flowers! We did drive to the local attractions like the Moses Cone Manor which was wonderful! Lots of trails for walking; did the very interesting ranger led tour of the Manor house. The Embers Inn itself was very clean & attractive, room was nice size with comfortable bed & usual amenities. The staff was very helpful and again the location was amazing! The Embers Restaurant for dinner was expensive but staff was very attentive. Only complaint, the Continental Breakfast is served only Mon - Fri and the Sat-Sun brunch is not included and pricey! This was not specified on the Expedia site which said it included breakfast & it did not say only weekdays!!"

I felt very safe the whole time which meant a lot. When my housekeeper found out I was there because my son was in hospital…she took time to talk to me & give me encouragement plus she left me a sweet handwritten note. In today’s rushed impersonal world…it meant a lot that she cared enough to do this."
