"We loved Four Fillies! The property was kept up very well and was so beautiful. I loved the sound of the creek. We travelled back and forth from Blacksburg which was a bit of a trek (45 minutes) but was a fairly easy drive. it was so worth it!"

One suggestion, maybe i overlooked it but state that cell phone connectivity is low due to area. If you have a wifi code you should include it in welcome letter as when you get there the service is very low to non existing."

"This property provides a wonderful riverside stay on the New River right on the river with easy access and easy parking right in front of the cabin efficiency. Close access to to the Whitehorne Boat Ramp for those the need a ramp as well as the scenic McCoys Falls right up Rt 625. Communication and instructions was excellent to plan our arrival and stay for the weekend.We look forward to coming back again this summer."

What made the trip so memorable was getting recommendations from the owner Amy when she came to the cabin stoking the outside heater that piped in heat to cabin. Cannot over emphasize the need to do research on places to explore while there, because this cabin is in a very rural area. Amy's recommendations on where we should visit meant everything. "1. The cabin was awesome. It was spotless, had literally everything we needed plus more, had comfortable mattresses (very important for my back), was exactly as described, and was beautiful. "This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family! The property is so beautiful and private. We were there for my daughter's graduation from Virginia Tech. I only wish we had a little more time to relax by the firepit and enjoy the soothing sounds of the stream that runs along the property."

"We absolutely loved the creek! My two dogs loved playing and swimming, and my husband and I loved sitting by the peaceful water flowing by. They got so worn out playing in the creek, and also all the great hiking nearby! Great location, close to Blacksburg if you want to go into town, but isolated enough to be able to relax in nature. The house itself was very clean and comfortable to stay in. We also enjoyed having a fire in the fire pit each night. We would definitely stay here again!"

"Our 4 night stay was wonderful, the inside has been recently renovated albeit it looks like some work is still being done in certain areas. It certainly did not deter from the overall experience and the owners have done a great job with the improvements thus far. The kitchen is amazing for cooking and entertaining. The house has an in-line water heater which was nice! The location is 45 minutes from Winterplace ski resort and about a 15 min car ride to most retail restaurant establishments. ...

"Unable to get a hotel room so this was the only alternative. The RV was listed as big enough to sleep 4. Three would have been possible but 4 a stretch and there’s no way 4 people could have taken a hot shower. I got a lukewarm one day one (only in for several minutes) and my son’s was ice cold. Also the place was clean but smelled of stale beer. Also the AC ran constantly even though thermostat was set at 75 degrees. Place was frigid."

"Dirty, stink bugs everywhere!!!!! Needs updating especially considering the price. Never again. Lights don’t work. Windows and doors don’t fit and are hard to operate. Again stick bugs everywhere!!!! Had planned a brunch for the grandchildren but had to cancel because the place was a disaster. I am pretty laid back but this was awful."

"I never do reviews, but was so impressed I am sharing. The property was exactly as pictured and described. Had booked a year in advance for my daughter’s graduation. It was a great place for a family gathering. We took advantage of kayaks, cornhole, and pool table. Everything was clean, grass mowed, and fire pit ready to go. "It's an older home so the floors were a bit uneven, but all the furnishings were very nice, loved the walk-in showers. I did need to use the complimentary earplugs because it's directly beside the railroad track and there are frequent trains, including at night, but with those in I slept great, comfy beds. The road into Eggleston and the driveway to the cottage are fairly steep and winding, I was glad I had AWD. Highly recommend walking over to the Pallisades for dinner, it was SO GOOD. Wi-fi...
