Salem is a quaint little town. Lots to see and do. I would have liked to stay longer but we were attending a class and visiting family. Shops looked like they would be fun and interesting. Great food at the local restaurants.

Excellent
A woman backed into our vehicle in the grocery parking lot in Salem and we had to interact with the local police. It was refreshing to interact with a police department that was still very cordial and professional. Still had that small town feeling

They are doing roadwork, but that did not affect my ability to travel. Very nice small town.

Loved the Olde Salem Brewing Company, with delivery from Frank's Pizza.
"We were very pleased with our stay at Hyatt Place Blacksburg. The check in was quick and easy, the room was clean and a great size for our family. Breakfast was incredible, and we were delighted to see so many options. When traveling with little children, it's always a gamble on what they will eat. Luckily for us, there was an amazing selection of fruits and breakfast food for our picky eaters to fill their bellies. We will absolutely stay here again if/when given the opportunity. "
"We stay in the hotel last year and it was nice then but since the hotel was newly renovated so it was even nicer. They removed the carpets in the rooms which made it look and feel cleaner. I never understood why hotels carpeted rooms in the first place. Carpets are just dust, dirt and germ magnets anyway.
The hot and cold breakfast options were good too and the coffee was substantial not watery brown liquid as like in so many other economy hotels.
Bravo! To hotel management.
We’ll stay again when passing through.
Thank you! "
"One night stay wasn’t bad at all. Did catch what I believe to be an employee smoking weed behind the trees. Front desk staff was great. Room was neat and tidy. Pool area is a little dated and hot tub was covered - non operational. "
"We’ve been using this location for the past 3 summers on our travels to/ from GA -MD. All staff are very helpful, friendly, and courteous. It’s a quiet location and convenient to a good selection of restaurants. I also enjoy using the pool. They honor my request for a room on ground level due to knee issues and stairs."
