It is a little out of the way but the hotel provides a free shuttle to and from the train station and a free hourly shuttle to the nearby town which is absolutely fabulous. They picked us up from the train station and upon arrival at the hotel, a staff member discussed the amenities, use of the onsen and will answer any questions. The ryokan has a small outdoor onsen.
