Admergill is nestled in the Pendle district of Lancashire, close to the Forest of Bowland Area, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and famous for its links to the trials of The Pendle Witches in 1612, among the most famous witch trials in English history, and prevalent as you travel through the villages of Roughlee and Barley. Alternatively, why not try out some of the wonderful cycle, walking and hiking routes in the area.
Close by the quaint village of Barrowford is a charming confluence of Pendle Water and Colne Water river, boasting pretty 18th-century cottages and offering a fantastic selection of independent boutiques, country pubs and eateries as well as a wine bar and an award winning supermarket, where you can purchase great local produce.
Flowing through Barrowford is the historic Leeds to Liverpool canal, 127 miles long and hosting 91 locks. There are also plenty of wonderful places to visit within easy driving distance. Haworth and Brontë Country are close, and the market town of Skipton with its medieval castle walls is also within a short drive. Lancashire’s Ribble Valley, with its picturesque villages and welcoming country inns, is within a 10-minute drive and the Yorkshire Dales can be reached in 30 minutes. There are several castles and houses worth visiting, including Gawthorpe Hall, Towneley Hall, and Bolton Abbey as well as the stunning Gisburn Forrest, one of the counties hidden gems and a mecca for the mountain biking enthusiast. Luxury, private retreat in a magical location. Great local amenities, activities and countryside. Well equipped with really lovely landlords who cannot do enough to ensure you have a relaxing break. The best place I have stayed at on Cottages.com

Absolutely lovely lodge, very spacious, well equipped and clean, with accommodating hosts.
Absolutely lovely lodge, very spacious, well equipped and clean, with accommodating hosts. Our family of 4 used it as a central base for a number of attractions we wanted to visit across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Yorkshire, but there’s also plenty to do locally if that’s a preference. Highly recommend.
