Good value, would recommend

We stayed in the family room which was very spacious and ideal for a family of 4. Check-in was very quick and easy. Breakfast buffet is basic (cereal, toast, juice) but all in all good value for money.

Not quite the experience I'd expected. Check in was great but, although large, the room was dark, found crumbs from a previous guest and only a double bed. The bar was open but the restaurant is closed at present, which isn't mentioned in the listing. Check in/evening staff were very friendly, but not so at breakfast. Went to breakfast at 9.30 to be told there were no more croissants - all 25 were gone! Breakfast is from 8.30 until 10.30 and consists of cereal, toast and yoghurt, tea and coffee and if you're lucky, croissants. The building could do with a bit of TLC.

Will not return!!!

Disappointed by the overall quality outgrew place room was very cold on arrival no heating on electric panel heater asked for supplement heating as very cold. Not informed that the breakfast was cold buffet only expecting full cooked also the bar is closed on Monday and Tuesday so no on site facilities. No hot water to sink tap and after asking for it to be sorted nothing happened. It looked like the place was struggling from the economic downturn so will not be going there again. The staff on the whole were okay.

Wasn’t happy we had no kettle in our room , & they couldn’t find one for us working , lucky for us our daughter was also staying so was able to share hers , only stayed one night for family party , if we were staying longer , then it would have been more of an issue

It was a large room with comfort in mind, friendly staff and the local area held masses of things to do with a small drive offering beaches fishing ping rides and great range of food available Would recommend and use again

Weekend away

Clean, comfortable and friendly staff tried to help if they could offered a fan due to hot weather. No window netting on windows so couldn't open blinds as people could see in from the function room, so used lights in room to see.However that was not a problem for me happy to do so. Bath with shower works well. Offered chilled water for the room. Has kettle and tea/coffee as well as a microwave. Large room plenty of space. Plenty of plug sockets to charge phones and other devices. Continental breakfast offered and it was lovely. Husband would of prefered weetabix but still like other cereals on offer.

Choose elsewhere to stay.

Do not stay in room 6. It had no tv or aerial or hairdryer. There was just one bedside cabinet. The light did not work in centre of the room. The curtains ill fitted. The bed uncomfortable with flat pillows. Shower broken. Water did not run away. Toilet only flushed after 2 or more tries. The floor in bathroom dipped in 3 places. Light over mirror did not work. After complaining we were moved to another room and given an extra night free as compensation. Apparently room 6 had been used by a member of staff. Although room sorted there was no kitchen so no cooked breakfast as stated on website. Or facility for evening meal as stated on website. Just cereal, yoghurt, toast, coffee and tea. Sometimes croissant. closed at 6pm. All in all i would avoid until they sort themselves out. We will not be returning.

A lovely place to stay . Had a huge room it was clean and comfortably... my only moan with be the people's in the room next to us had a dog that barked alot at night time ... but thats not the fault of the barn .

Misrepresentation of facilities!

Restaurant closed until further notice! And the "buffet breakfast" was a Croissant with a small snack sized orange juce in the room, not what I expected at all! The staff were superb, the room was OK but basic and dated. I would not have booked if they had disclosed that they had no food, and without warning I had no opportunity to book a table elsewhere. Made do with a day old sandwich from the local convenience store.

On arrival was told that there was no dining facilities, staff had walked out two days previously. Was told breakfast would be provided in the room and consisted of pre-packed one crossiant each with no butter/margarine or jam and a pre-packed flap jack with an orange drink which we were expected to eat in the room. We had expected to dine in on day of arrival but had to make alternative arrangements and when we returned back at 21:10 the staff were closing the bar and had to make do with a hot drink which we made in our room. The property was unattended until 09:00 the following morning, very disappointed, we are pensioners who had travelled 200 miles to attend a family funeral and could do without this extra inconvenience and unprofessional run business.

Will not be recommending.

Staff not knowing what they were doing most of the time. Long wait to check in. Because of early departure, I was advised that breakfast would be from 7:30/8am or I could have something made up waiting for me in the morning. Nothing prepared, told in the morning breakfast wouldn’t be available until 08:30, so went without with no offer of a small refund to cover the cost. During the previous evening’s booked meal for 15, many items on the menu were not available. Alternatives were offered, but four eggs to replace ham on a course of egg, ham and chips? Not acceptable. This was my second stay here, but will not be returning. Standards last year weren’t great, but this year have dropped too far. So unfortunately for them, I shall not be returning. I’ve found better and cheaper alternatives nearby.

A mixed bag

plus points - comfy bed, shower good, kettle etc and hairdryer, nice breakfast, friendly staff minus point - place a bit tired and some maintenance issues we were not told that the bar/restaurant would be closed which was a real nuisance on a rainy night after a tiring day we were not told which keys to use for which doors so when returning in the rain we only got in because another guest helped us
