New Orleans Courtyard Hotel and Suites by the French Quarter

"My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay at this hotel. We originally booked somewhere else but had to change our plans to accommodate individual needs. At the last minute, we found this hotel and chose it because it offered two bedrooms. When we arrived, we learned the building had recently been acquired. The rooms appeared to have been renovated, though the exterior could use some work. The elevator is very small, and the balcony is quite narrow. I’m afraid of heights, so I may be a little biased about the balcony—my travel companions weren’t bothered by it. Our room was spacious and included a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The location was also a convenient distance from Bourbon Street and Canal Street. All in all, we had a wonderful time."

"We had a wonderful time here during our stay. The location is perfect and allowed us to walk everywhere. I went on a morning run every day of our stay and it was such a great central place to run from. The staff was helpful and when we had a little issue they were quick to take care of it and moved us to a different room. The pool was lovely and the hot tub was the perfect temp. The jets didn't work but the hot water was great. Thanks for an amazing stay!"

"We had 5 adults in our group. This home was perfect for us. It's close to public transportation, but just far enough away from downtown. The owner and neighbors are friendly. Seriously.....take a walk around and talk to the locals. They know all the best spots! Home is clean and spacious. Gas station, restaurants, etc are within walking distance. If you are like us and cook on vacation there are tons of pots and pans. However, if you need to bake something, consider bringing a casserole dish or buying a cheap tin from a nearby store."

"My room was super clean. The bathroom was impeccable. Plenty of towels. I especially liked that not a lot of other guests were there; it was very quiet despite the busy street. Important detail that Expedia leaves out; there’s no front desk, so check in is between 3-5. They were kind enough to let me in after hours, but you shouldn’t rely on my experience; call ahead! I just got lucky. If it had been in the middle of the night I’d have been in trouble. The charm of staying in an old historic rooming house far outweighs any perceived inconvenience for not having a desk. I would definitely stay here again, and might very well do so next year. Important notes; I keep odd hours, so I didn’t utilize the breakfast. Parking would be a major concern on Esplanade if I’d been traveling with a rental. It’s a busy street. Don’t expect off street parking. It’s a neighborhood! The charm of it was wonderful. I walked all the way to the French quarter in maybe twenty or twenty five minutes and took a taxi home."

French Quarter Suites Hotel

"I stayed at this hotel in early October for a girls trip. When we first got to the hotel around 7:45PM. We followed directions the hotel had sent to us via email. To our surprise, the door it told us to go to was locked and nobody was answering the phone. We called 3 times and then proceeded to call the emergency phone number the hotel gave out. Turns out, the emergency number they give out to guests is to a number that does NOT work with the hotel anymore- hasn't for years. Luckily, the woman gave us an idea to try by going to the hotel next door to check in. It worked thankfully, but I feel the instructions need to be updated and more direct with what travellers need to do. Other than that, the room was clean and very spacious. Upon entering the room, the room and even the bedsheets smelled like mildew. However, the bathroom outlets did not work, so we had to use the living outlets to blow dry our hair. The bathroom shower doesn't properly hold/drain water so the bathroom will flood every time someone showers. The rooms constantly smelled like weed and/or cigarettes. The walls are also thin so you will hear your neighbors. Aside from this, I did like the hotel and enjoyed the fact there was security every night on the property. I also liked we had a key fob to even enter the hotel. Staff was always friendly and helpful!"
