Midly deceiving but does the job
The communication on whatsapp was top notch. But the place look so much bigger on the pictures. The quality of the beds is the bare minimum. At least everyone slept well, but expectations need to be set when booking this property.

Very Good value but a few faults
This was a surprisingly cheap one-night stop, and overall very good value. A spacious and warm apartment with most of what you need but a few quirky omissions that might spoil a longer stay. Wet Room - everything worked but you really need a bath mat to put down to avoid walking everywhere with wet feet. Kitchenette quite well-equipped but lacking a sink plug, tea-towel and a drying-up rack, which meant some items had been put away clean but slightly wet. Felt like the furniture had been bought 2nd hand (fine for a budget apartment) but the sofa was incredibly uncomfortable - you could feel the springs. No table to eat at, just a very small desk-table with one chair, and the table had some sticky residue - not terrible but not great either. Would probably use again but only for an odd night, or two max.

Quiet budget place 10mins from centre with parking
Nice wee place. Parking outside, they even come at check out time on Sunday to give you a £25 ticket. It's a quid an hour, or there's a multi story round the corner for a fiver a day. Room had a double, a sofa bed with a pull out. There were 3 guys and 2 towels or my friend's hid the 3rd towel. Close to the centre, 5 mins to the purple roundabout and another 5 mins from there. Room was quiet, didn't notice anyone else coming or going. Maybe we were the noisy ones. Kitchen has crockery with cutlery, 2 ceramic hobs, a fridge and a microwave. I saw a tumble drier in the hall, it looked busy. Kept the place warm. Tried to watch f1 on the wee telly but 4g signal wasn't great. Signal improved to acceptable when i plugged my phone in. There was a hint that you could pay for wifi but I missed how to get the offer. There's an expensive boozer nearby £2 for a bottle of water. Contact was great, i phoned up a week before to check there would be 3 beds. The booking was for a double and 2 singles. Ended up with a double, a sofa bed and a floor bed. Security deposit was refuned in 3 days. Get whatsapp messages ahead, during and at the end of you stay to check how you're getting on. Keep you right with check out and ask you if you want to extend your stay. Shower looked nice.

Feels like home! A great place to stay were we can cook and do the laundry since we stayed for a week. Very convenient place, around 15 minutes walk to city center. All transport links like metro and buses are accessible. Highly recommended! Will definitely book again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The property was clean and within reach of the city centre. We did not experience any disturbance from other guests. My daughter loved it but there was no WiFi connection. I would recommend it

Terrible. Poor communication, made us wait for 40 mins to check in before any contact with someone who knew what was going on. Phoned their number to check in and was told to phone hotels.com to check in which rang alarm bells. Did not stay, booked somewhere else. Also wanted big deposit.

AA Alexander House - Refund Request
Dear Sir/Madam, We had a terrible experience at AA Alexander House that we ended up booking another Apartment. This was due to the below: Firstly we was told to ring before arrival, we had no answer until we arrived. We arrived at 5:30 no one was there or picking up to show us our rooms/units. We eventually managed to get through and was told to wait 15/20 mins. A couple with a baby was waiting outside in the cold waiting to be roomed as well as us. We then tried ringing the contact again and no answer. The cleaner came out and said it’s only her cleaning the rooms which caused the delay, bearing in mind check in was meant to be from 3pm! The person on the phone said it’s been busy everywhere and they’ve been short staffed The cleaner kindly allowed us inside to the rooms to wait as it was cold outside, the time was 6:30 at that point and myself and friends were stressed out at this point. The cleaner was having a hard time doing all the rooms on her own which caused more delay. We eventually decided to leave the apartment and booked a new apartment. When we eventually found a new apartment the contact rang us and said rooms are ready to check in this was between 8-9pm, which is extremely late! This has ruined our weekend as we had to pay extra money then planned. We had things planned and booked and wasn’t able to make it. Is there any chance of a refund as we did not even get to stay where we originally booked. Kind regards, Yaegan

Affordable easy to get to and find. Close to Newcastle city centre. Easy self checkin process. There is on street parking no restrictions 6pm-8am, max stay during day time is 2 hrs. Beware property manager asked for deposit via bank transfer over text. Did not send the money but still gave check in code.

Fab apartment don’t get caught out by the deposit
The apartment itself was great exactly what we were expecting, clean tidy, great location, well equipped and the lady who checked us in was lovely too. The only problem we had was the communication prior to arriving. I received a WhatsApp message asking me to deposit £200 security deposit into the bank account provided. When I called the number to query this the property manager was rude and abrupt, there had been no indication prior to the message that a deposit was required and it certainly didn’t feel the safest thing to do transferring it into a bank account provided over WhatsApp messenger! During the call the deposit was halved and I agreed to pay cash on arrival. This was returned to me on check out without issue. Will definitely book again but hotel.com need to be more explicit regarding the security deposit and the options for making the payment.

Great stay!
We had an amazing experience at this apartment. Initially there were some mix ups but the host dealt with the situation efficiently and made sure we had no other issues. Thank you so much for making our trip more memorable haha :)
