Dear Richard, Please accept my apologies - I have only just realised that we hadn't responded to your review. We did have some discussions following your stay and I thought that we had brought the matter to a close. By way of background, this was a very late booking, made on 28 December 2019 for a stay commencing the very next day. We contacted you to advise that we had just booked out this property to another guest. We did however endeavour to find you an alternative property on the resort. The resort was of course very busy at that time of year but after number of enquiries and calls, we did find a property that was available, although it was not a property that we own or were familiar with. We explained to you that we didn't know that property and could offer no information, except that it was the same size and layout as ours. The property you stayed in is not the one that is advertised on this website and you were made aware of this before you started your break, albeit we were in communication late into the evening on 28th December and your break started the next day. Unfortunately, as it turned out, the property had not been maintained with the same level of care as ours and you were understandably disappointed on your arrival the next day. We were just as disappointed as you because we really do wish for our guests to fully enjoy their experience and go home happy. To compensate you for your poor experience, we did agree to offer you compensation and this was transferred into your account on 29 January 2020.

Hi Florence, Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review. Until last year, there was a self service launderette on the site but the resort management shut it down because it was not being used much. I can imagine 3 small children will have got through a lot of clothes - been there myself! Entertainment is provided on a seasonal basis at the discretion of the resort owners and is usually limited to summer and christmas holidays. I am pleased however that you still managed to enjoy your stay at our house and made use of the site facilities. Kind regards Kamla

I'm sorry to hear you experienced some problem with the hot water. Unfortunately, there's only electric on site as in most rural areas so there isn't an endless supply of constant hot water as with a combination gas boiler for example. I would have been more than happy to help you manage the system if you had contacted me. Hi Paul, Thank you very much for posting a review. I'm glad that you got to try out the food at the Manor House - many guests don't even know it's there! I agree - the facilities at the resort are very good and many locals use them too, which is one of the reasons the car park does get busy at peak times and the over-spill car park comes into play. We are very pleased that you found the accommodation to be spacious and comfortable enough for your group and were also able to enjoy some of the excellent facilities on the site as well as a few of the local attractions. We will have to give the foot-golf a try ourselves when we are next down there. I do believe that you can purchase everyday essentials from Reception – I know that in the summer they do open a small shop in the ‘summer reception’ which is reasonably well stocked. My, that is a long journey that you made – glad that it was worth it. Next time you should think about staying in Cornwall longer to make the travelling more worthwhile!
