Lovely hosts, not just dog friendly but dog welcoming. They made our little dog feel at home.
Stunning setting & beautiful breakfast. We would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again .
This is a hidden gem. Right by the loch with stunning views over the mountains across the water a!d adjacent to the property. The proprietors are super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very tasty and the beds very comfortable - didn't want to get up!😀. Take some midge repellent if you wish to sit by the loch in the evening 😉. All in all a brilliant b&b and would stay again.
Just back from a over night stay in rostrevor and we stayed in tbe oystercatcher guest house. I cannot recommend this high enough. The host was one off the friendliest and warmest person i have meet. We were meet at the door, shown to our room, breakfast order taken and all explained, no hassle at all
Room was spotless, comfortable and bed lovely to sleep in. We had breakfast next morning which was freshly cooked as we sat at the table. Our host chatted away with us as if we were part of the family, this made us feel very welcome. We will definately be back for more visits
We had a fantastic stay at The oystercatcher in Rostrevor. Everything was central and so picturesque. The hosts Pasquelina and her husband were so attentive and friendly. They have so much local knowledge to draw from . Great facilities as well. Loved our stay.
Fantastic location with very helpful host at check in. Host does not live on site however and there is no breakfast with the accommodation. Room on top floor is cramped by very low ceilings and doorways, but outdoor patio off second floor has wonderful views.
Stayed here for one night, it is situated in a convenient area close to a few eateries and close to some good walks, wifi was advertised but non existent in the back room we stayed in and there was a mix up with breakfast, the price of breakfast was refunded and the owner assured me that the wifi would be fixed. The owners have not had the property long so hopefully given a bit of time they will iron out the bugs, we would stay here again
Room and establishment lacked love and care to make it feel comfy and inviting, no nice touches, lots of bits needed tidying up, -gaps roughly/untidy filled in bathroom, poor shower, barely hot enough, tap on basin broken, towels tatty, hot fancy radiator next to wash basin-easy to burn self, old bath mat.bed very low(Ikea malm) lumpy mattress, tatty bedside cupboards, mismatched wardrobe,tv remote not working, curtain rail falling out of wall, fresh milk in room on ice mat, curdled! Wifi very poor. And only a door to house kitchen or something, so very easily disturbed by people in it at night and early morning.
James the proprietor is an excellent host and Bernie can cook up a storm of a breakfast. The room was unclusterd yet had every thing. The bathroom was well equipped and will put many hotels to shame. The property has a view to die for. Will definitely return.
The best accommodation of this type I ever stayed in. The owners are very friendly and you couldn't wish for better hosts. If I am ever in that neck of the woods again I will go out of my way to go back. Excellent
We only decided to book and travel 18 hours before departure to watch the Ulster Juniors cross country qualifying event in Kilbroney Park.

Fabulous location!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Oystercatcher which was quirky and different. In a great location across the road from the Loch, our first floor twin room had a fabulous view looking out across the water towards the mountains near Carlingford. Very laid back atmosphere, so probably most suited to walkers/cyclists/artists/musicians/young outdoor types; if you are looking for a corporate hotel with marble and tiles everywhere, this is probably not for you, but if you want somewhere unique, different, comfortable and with superb breakfasts, then go for it!
