"We used the Pickled Parson as a home base for a month while visiting family. The room we had for that duration of a stay was a little small, but it was comfortable, clean and made up daily. Beamish Park Hotel

8/10 Good

"Plenty of on site parking. Friendly & helpful staff. Large & comfortable room but a bit tired. Ours had towel rail running piping hot on a day that was 27 degrees…. Staff should have checked room & run air con for 20mins pre guest arrival - walking in to a cool room after 7hrs driving would have made a huge difference. Food was amazing both evening meal & breakfast. I would recommend, "

"The duty manager that was there upon arrival was really helpful. He sorted our carpark booking and also made us aware of the local restaurants for our evening meal. After going for something to eat, returning I found the bathroom tap to be loose, so reported it to him and he said he would get o=it sorted next morning, which was ok with us as the tap was of no issue to us. THe room was spotless, and the facilities were of good quality. THe bed was so comfortable. Aircon was a bonus as it was really hot. We didnt stay for breakfast as I was due for skydiving on saturday 23rd May so didnt want to eat too much. Check out was an easy process too"

"Hotel clean enough and can't fault the fact it has a small pool, sauna and steam room along with a gym. Breakfast staff nice and friendly, room was seemed clean. On the downside no for the room, no air con or fan in the room and a lot of road noise especially with window open (still audible with it shut also, despite being on 4th floor). Only two sets of towels in the room even though there were three of us staying in the room. Plug sockets next to the beds but no usb ports. I'd paid for breakfast with my booking but reception said we didn't have it despite me showing him confirmation we did. I had booked through Hotels.com / Expedia and i was told it was there problem not the hotels so that was really helpful !! Car park wasn't the biggest and cost an additional £8 or £9, there is plenty of other car parks nearby which i think cost a similar price for 24hrs."

"This is a busy family and pet friendly spa hotel. The car park can be a long walk round to reception and they don’t advertise the short cut. The hotel was clean but the outside benches and furniture was mixed. Some benches had lots of bird droppings all over them and in emptied ash trays with water tide marks. The music outside was unnecessarily loud. The food and staff hospitality was very good though! With a cleaning and repair regime for the outside, it would be 4 stars."
