Would recommend.

Absolutely lovely overnight stay. Room felt spacious, was very clean and comfortable. From checking in to leaving the staff were welcoming and exceptionally polite. Breakfast offered a good choice and the staff provided excellent service.

Good restaurant and service

Facilities looking a bit tired and dated but nice and clean. Was impressed with vegan options on the dinner menu and the quality of the food was very good overall. Service was also very good. Shame that the spa is a mile away so didn’t bother to use it. Parking a bit tricky. Prob won’t use again as didn’t like the location, but was convenient for us as a one night stopover in a long journey. Pluses are definitely dinner and lovely service.

Lovely 4 poster bed room.

Hotel was lovely the room was beautiful with 4 poster bed. The only thing I would say is that you don’t get to use the pool or spa and when I booked it. It didn’t say you had to pay extra on the booking at the time so that was abit disappointing. Apart from that location is great. We walked into Darlington for dinner.

Lovely hotel.

We love coming back to this hotel. The beds are great “ very comfortable, breakfast has a lot of choice and is tasty. The staff are very good. The central location is ideal for retail therapy and restaurants. Overall great.

What you see is definitely not what you get! The hotel and its facilities are tired and desperately needs a makeover. The room had a bad smell, the extractor in the bathroom was not working and no air conditioning just a small pesky and ineffective fan. Would have scored lower but for the hotel staff (except the receptionist when we checked in) were friendly and courteous. I will not be staying in a Bannatyne hotel again anytime soon.

Overall comfortable

Comfortable bed, room needs a bit of a tidy up. Paintwork chipped here & there, window in bathroom totally broken. Service rather slow.

Not bad but a bit one the cool side in December

The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Room was a bit on the cold side better than too warm. Breakfast was okay but I’ve had better. Location is good easy access to town centre if your catching a train you need to allow 30 mins from checking out of the hotel to been on the platform which is a leisurely walk for an able bodied person. It’s a 10 minute walk to local auction. Staff were helpful without been over the top.

Warm welcome. Room was available befre the 3pm recommended time. Lovely large room with comfy bed. Paintwork around the property needs a refresh. Windows need cleaning. Good facilities in the bathroom. Had to wait a while to be seated for breakfast but willing to forgive that as it was new year's day. Hearty breakfast and staff were excellent.

Good location in central location

Nice hotel with limited parking. I had a bad bad smell in my bathroom. Room 37. Drain smell. Was going to order room service but the smell put me off. Reported it to housekeeping

Property is looking tired in places with DIY in bedroom very evident - paint on sockets, flaking paint on ceiling. TV was a challenge to get it to work but was good once going. Car park was a nightmare with no defined parking spaces so Amish mash if parking angles and areas. Staff and breakfast were great though

£5 for a empty glass and a ice bucket So greedy

The hotel has limited free parking. The staff are polite, friendly. Massive problem was when I asked for. Two glasses and a ice bucket £5 they wanted to charge me!! I asked to speak to the manager who still wouldn’t waver this charge !!!
