The hotel was a little dated but nice, quite out of the way of anything which made it difficult for us to get to and from the stadium.
Service was good, breakfast was lovely
Thought we had arrived at back of hotel but no we were at main entrance, once we entered through guest door the staff were pleasant the room was clean and comfortable although the ensuite was small, i do believe that is listed in room description, the food was excellent, as was the service
What a find ! The facilities ( full
sized snooker table and hot tub ) service and breakfast were incredible value for the price . I don’t think I’ve ever had such a mix of different fresh fruits and the cooked breakfast quality was amazing both in terms of cooking and quality of the bacon / sausage.
Lovely feel to the rooms , ours had birds right outside the window perching on a branch on the other side of the glass !
No shower gel; watered down hand soap; breakfast at too late a time for any needing to be out by 9am to actually enjoy;

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Cardboard towels and powerless shower.
Cooked breakfast not available until 8.30, we had to leave before then. Towels like cardboard, l stood mine up. Shower has water saving device on that makes it almost pointless. I gave up. Milk portions curdled when used. No car park to speak of, you pack on the driveway. Won’t be booking there again. On a plus it has a full size snooker table
i was travelling late and actually had to phone the property as their sign is literally illegible at night, driving down a country lane and arriving at what I felt was a back alley no spaces more leave your car wherever there is a space, not actual bays. It is like parking in a farmers yard. My host greeted me in bare feet and guided me to my room after showing me where the help yourself breakfast was. Very old property, high modernisation required, door handles falling off. I would be concerned if i was a lone female traveller coming here. the name Brass castle country house makes it sound very grand but trust me it isnt.
To be honest, i feel bad saying this as the young giel working there was so pleasent...
The place wasnt very clean as were the staff, after a long drive i just wanted to have a shower a bite of dinner and go to bed.
Shown to the bar, which looks nothing like the picture..Seats full of stains as with the carpet, everything just looked grubby.. Had my dinner serverd, she apologiesed for the small stak and hoped the extra chips made up for it.. The steak was small and terribly cooked in fact it was all very poor, i just left it and went to my room.
The room again, dirty carpet water stains down the walls. Fly spray oin the matlepiece, nice touch.
I looked under the quilt, then decided to lay on the top fully clothed.
Shower in the morning after a terribly itchy sleep, no real presure in the shower... The towels looked and felt older than me, honestly i wish i had just turned around and walked out. If i had know the area better i would have, i think someone is plkaying at hotels and not doing very well at it.
Oh almost forgot, whilst waiting to pay for my food.. I knowcked the kitchen door, as i just wanted to get out of the bar. I looked in through the window in th door, it wasnt great sticking muddy shoes on the floo and the rest i wish i hadnt seen as you just cant unsee it. I felt ill going to my room.
We had a 1 night stay the room was lovely, great view over the grounds, very peaceful, we had an early start the next day & the staff accommodated that & made breakfast for us 30 mins before normal service.
100% would definitely stay again.
Enjoyed a night here while in town for a wedding, had to bring our young son along at short notice and wasn't a problem. Breakfast was great and the location ideal for our needs but generally good as a base for exploring the surrounding area.
Very friendly family run great facility’s with hot tub bar games room !
The breakfast was amazing one of the best I have had in a long time
Should I be working in this area again this is where I will stop.
Even thinking on taking the family down for a few days stay I enjoyed the location so much !
Had a lovely one night stay at Brass Castle as was working in the area . Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help during my stay
room was spacious overlooking the gardens and where the hotel is it was a very quiet but good nights sleep . Breakfast was amazing and will stay again when back in the area
Double check Sat Nav when trying to find the hotel though as the postcode didnt initially take me to the hotels driveway
I arrived late after they had stopped serving food, however they went and had a look at what they had, did me a small menu to choose from, and cooked me an amazing supper, a great end to an otherwise hard day
