"This property was walking distance to a bunch of markets such as Nishiki, Termachi, etc. There are lots to do around the area and very close to Kamo river with restaurants. I got sick when I got to Kyoto so the staff gave me English speaking medical clinics around the area. The property is nice and has laundry downstairs but there is a long wait time as everyone is trying to wash/dry their clothes. The breakfast is decent even though it is a bit pricey for Japan I would say. But there are variety of food. We also upgraded our room upon check in to have more space and they were able to accommodate pretty quickly."

"Interesting hotel and our room was astounding (we stayed in 102). Breakfast was a choice of Japanese or Western style, different every day and served on a large wooden platter. The hotel is opposite the Imperial Palace Gardens, we'll situated for busses into the city center or the subway for trips further afield. The staff were helpful and friendly but we didn't see many of them. The hotel has a strange layout, you enter at street level into a huge atrium and there's a desk but nobody was ever at it - you had to go down the stairs to another desk - and this wasn't always staffed so most of the time we just went in and out without encountering anyone. The hotel advertises a bar but forget about having a relaxing drink on the roof terrace when you get back at the end of the day - the bar was never open."
