"After driving for 14 hours alone with my child I arrived at Elkotel at 11:30 pm to a pre paid room. There was an issue with my credit card not having enough for the deposit. I offered them a credit card with almost the full amount and cash to cover the deposit and they refused. Remember I already paid for the room and was in the middle of nowhere. When I explained I could not drive safely and we could die they did not care and told me to leave. When I said I'd have to sleep a little while in my car they told me they would call the cops on me. The two front desk staff here in the evening are rude and do not care at all about the safety of guests. They were willing to let me and my child die over $30. And I offered them three times that in cash. Disgusting service. "

The staff was great until the manager Michelle took my card information for a “deposit” but charged me $163.00 for a night stay when I already paid through hotels.com. I told her this and she saw this in the system. I thought she took my card for a deposit until I asked for a receipt…. That’s when I saw it wasn’t for a deposit. She charged me double for one night in hopes I wouldn’t recognize the charge and they can steal $163.00 from me because the register would have a cash overage…. That’s an old trick that cashiers use to pocket money at the end of their shift. Michelle will smile in your face and try to rob you, so if you stay at this hotel make sure you are dotting your i’s & crossing your T’s or you will have some unexpected charges on your bank statement because they are broke…. "
