The most peaceful road ever.
This photo is a version of one on here. I want to say though that this one spot means more to me then almost any other. I had absolutely no idea what lay at the end of the path I took coming to this spot. There was a small parking area and a wooden boardwalk. A sign just said tree exhibit. I walked about a mile down the trail to find this. It may just look like a pretty steam, rocks, and some plants. It is so much more. The water was a deep sapphire blue, from glacial runoff, the forest almost seemed alive with spring life. Have you ever had a moment where you felt you are in the exact right spot and at the right time? I did. I must have stood there for about a hour. I didn’t want to move. I soaked in the colors; sapphire blue water, emerald green leaves and lichens, the greys of the rocks. There was a smell of fresh growth and earthiness. There was a cool breeze, just enough to let you know that even though it was mid summer, spring was just arriving here. Only one other time in my life had I ever felt this way. I talked with a ranger who was nearby. He told me this might not be here in 10 years. The glacier that feeds this steam has turned into an ice field. They expect it will be gone within 10 years. The waters will no longer be blue, they will only run after the snow melts in spring. Then the waters will drop down and this stream may be dry during the summer. It hurt, to know that some people may never see this, experience this event. Know what this looked like. The rangers are doing all they can, but one day, this beautiful place will change and this scene will not be here. #nationalpark

We arrived a few hours early and we're allowed to check in. The front desk girl was friendly, funny and helpful. Our room was clean, bed comfortable with lots of pillows. Breakfast was good. We like that Starbucks is across the parking lot. This is our 5th or 6th stay, and will be back!

Warm, partially natural hot springs with amazing views. About a 10-15 minute hike in. Super easy! Worth the drive down a windy highway! This photo though is not the first hot spring you see. You have to climb down the mountain further and hike longer to get to this one! 110% worth it.

Just after the entrance to Glacier National Park there is a small path leading out on a rock formation that provides incredible views of the mountain scape across the lake. We thought we would be able to take the Going To The Sun Road through the park, but it’s opening was delayed (it was already the middle of May) due to a late thaw and portions of the road were still covered in snow. This little overlook, only a short walk past the gate, was perfect after having driven over an hour out of the way to drive through the park. #mountains #nationalparks #roadtrip
