Harbor's Edge Motel

8/10 Good

"The bed was comfortable. Good location for water trips. Parking available on site. Not used to a air conditioner by the bed- noisy. Definitely need a non slip mat in the shower. The shower floor was very slippery. The room was clean. Enjoyed the swivel chairs to read. Liked the table to play games. Suggest updating the overhead light that looked like it from the 1950,s with a overhead fan."

The Washburn Inn - On the Lake

"This hotel is just a landing spot to sleep with comfortable beds, not super obnoxious air conditioners, and roomy rooms enough space to layout suit cases and coolers. There is not much for amenities but we were well aware when booking the hotel, no pool, breakfast or common space area. Access to the lake was a bonus. My boys enjoyed fishing off the dock every night and morning. The hotel is quiet and there is a nice sitting place outside."

"Fantastic location. We really enjoyed waking up to the waterfront views coffee in hand.The water access and dock couldn’t be better. Cabin is that classic rustic feel. The host offered clear instructions and was very responsive."

Barker's Island Inn Resort

"You could tell that in it's day this place was a great hotel, but it is tired and in need of some TLC. The staff seemed less than enthused about working here, and no where did it say that the restaurant was closed for breakfast... we only found out at 7am that we had to go somewhere else. We did eat in the lounge for supper, which was tasty, but we sat there for 15 minutes before even getting a hello from the only waitress on staff. It was NOT busy(and we were right next to the bar), but it seemed like she was more interested in serving the regular locals than strangers from out of town, Once she did come, she was pleasant and efficient. Not sure if she didn't realize how long we sat there, but I was a server for 18 years, and I usually don't criticize. Anyway, it was a nice place, got to sit at the beach and enjoy people-watching. But the smoke from fires rolled in the next day and you couldn't see much after that. I was still glad that we made the trek to Barkers Island Resort, and we did make use of the pool as well. I would recommend them, but there is room for improvement."
