Barker's Island Inn Resort

"Our stay at Barker’s Island Inn was truly wonderful. The location is absolutely beautiful, with peaceful waterfront views and easy access to everything around Superior and Duluth. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. What really made this place stand out, though, was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared that we had a great experience. They treated us like valued guests instead of just another reservation, and that kind of hospitality is becoming harder to find. We also enjoyed the amenities, especially the pool and hot tub, and appreciated having a restaurant on-site. The entire property has a relaxing atmosphere that made it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. Thank you to everyone at Barker’s Island Inn for making our trip memorable. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and will gladly recommend it to family and friends. If you’re looking for a comfortable lakeside stay with exceptional customer service, Barker’s Island Inn is an excellent choice."

"The hotel is quite nice, and the staff were very friendly at check-in. There are some beautiful, antique wood furniture pieces spread out over the common areas, which gives charm to the hotel. Unfortunately, my husband and I arrived during the time when the air quality was 3-4 times worse than the minimum "dangerous" rating, due to wild-fire smoke, and we had to spend nearly a whole day inside. The next evening there was a big storm, and much of the town lost electricity, just as we were getting ready to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. Of course, the AC, TV, etc., were all out of commission. After some time, we saw the restaurant staff leaving. All other nearby places --restaurants and stores -- were closed, and we had nothing to eat. While loosing power was not the hotel's fault, it would have been much appreciated if the staff showed some sign of caring about the guests. For example, after they were told that there would be no electricity for 5-6 hours--until shortly before midnight--and I inquired about where we could get food and they had no idea, it would have been nice if they offered us some simple and inexpensive breakfast food, like bread and butter/jam or yoghurt or similar. Not a free gourmet dinner, just something to get us through, because we were very hungry. However, the staff's response was simply "sorry". Again, loosing power was not their fault, but a little bit of kindness could have improved the situation and our impression of the hotel a lot."

"It was a great hotel in a great location. It was clean and the bed was comfy. Lots of restaurants and shopping around. We went to Rock USA it was about a 20 minute drive from there which wasn’t great after a long day at a festival but it was manageable. In fact I would probably stay there again. The doors leading to the outside could definitely use some TLC but overall it was a great place and staff was very helpful and friendly."
