A very charming stay overall. Our room, being right next to the elevator, could get noisy at times, but the convenience of the location and the property’s character more than made up for it.
Parking was close by, such a wonderful old property with history, lovely areas like library or courtyard to sit. Pool was lovely also met a lot of local members and enjoyed talking with them. Breakfast excellent great start to the day highly recommend

Fabulous historic property just steps from bars, restaurants, etc.
A very beautiful historic hotel designed by Julia Morgan . The building is well taken care of. The indoor pool area, while grand, could use some love .
The restaurant is also beautiful, menu is surprisingly conventional. I was surprised by the prix fix menu only having one offering and that was red meat!
Rooms are simple and smaller, but adequate.
Staff is mixed, some competent some not. Like everywhere these days.
Feel it’s worth staying at these important properties so that they remain viable.
Historic hotel. Great architecture. Good breakfast. Small bed

Building is gorgeous! Great location
However our room was tiny, bathroom super old, bed small and uncomfortable very difficult to find a working outlet anywhere
For almost $400 I’d expect more!

The location is great! This property is unique - very pretty inside! Great breakfast. The room is small and the bed is small. Only two people can fit in this room! But it worked for us and we had a view of the Golden Gate bridge from our room on a higher floor. Also - no tv in room.
Berkeley City Club – A charming and historic boutique hotel with classic architecture and vintage elegance. The staff is warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the breakfast is great. A memorable stay!
Gorgeous!!! Building has so much character!! I would choose this over any hotel no question!!! Staff was so friendly, rooms are beautiful. Highly recommend.
Such a lovely and original hotel! If you like character over commercial, this is the place for you! Beautiful art deco features, a friendly staff, a lovely bar and gorgeous complimentary breakfast beyond the normal fare, and sweet rooms with just enough space for all! Will definitely be booking again for all my return trips to the area!
