"Wonderful quiet location with views of the mountains! Owner and staff were gracious and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of food. Good place to base yourself out of to explore the area, including the ruins at Paestum. "

"A pretty amazing place. Looks very luxurious, the restaurant and the meal was super fancy and yet very reasonably priced. We couldn’t understand why the place was mostly empty, but we stayed mid-week, and the place clearly caters to Italians (even the spa menu was only in Italian). The air-conditioning in the room was not very strong and very noisy, but otherwise very nice room. "

"Hotel has probably seen it’s day. Photo of outdoor pool shown on Expedias website was the draw to stay there. Pool is closed! FALSE ADVERTISING! General staff was very helpful and tried hard to help the guests but we were shocked to wake up to a woman screaming at the top of her lungs berating some poor fellow. "Very friendly staffs. We LOVED the thermal pool! Natural hot springs. 3 different pools and very relaxing. They also have a bar/cafe right next to the thermal pool and they serve fresh squeezed juices. Breakfast - most selections. Very delicious. "

We considered staying in Paestum to be close to the great temples but knowing that La Mortella was only 20 minutes away convinced us to try something different during our Italia tour.
