A 7/10 stay. The area around the hotel isn’t great, but it’s a 15 min walk to the centre of town. Free parking at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. Rooms were a bit sad. Overall clean. Decent pool. Nothing wowed me about this hotel

We checked in late with 2 young kids at 1am. The maid came into our room without knocking at 7:30am and woke our kids. No accessible. There were ants all over our room The AC made a huge noise and I had to turn it off in the middle of the night The front desk manager wouldn’t do anything to help us. Would NOT recommend this hotel!! The gym was real nice though.

Good location, comfortable roomw

The Mercure is well located, had plenty of parking space, a nice pool and English speaking friendly staff. The breakfast is basic, but good enough for the day at the beach. Pool/Beach towel will cost you €3 to rent. There’s a good steak house and Japanese restaurant near the hotel. We definitely recommend this hotel!

Good value and only a short walk to the centre.

The hotel pool is great and the room was spacious and clean, breakfast was nice too. The extra charge for the spa and limited opening hours meant that we didn’t make use of it. The shower water pressure was very low. All in all a good value hotel in central location.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a short walk to the center and very close to the train station and many buses stop about 2 blocks away. Room was comfortable and great size. The pool was nice but closes too early because they serve dinner by it. Would stay again

Hotel has everything needed for a few days accommodation. Pool area is good, breakfast excellent, rooms were comfy and air conditioning made it cool on very hot days. The area is not great but only five mins walk to old town, shops and restaurants. Staff were efficient and very friendly.

Pool was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was fine but the eggs were consistently overcooked. Room was below average from a maintenance perspective. We didn’t have water on the last two days. Couldn’t wash or shower.

I liked the location as it provided easy walking access to the old town and good connections for buses and trains to explore other parts of the island. The hotel has an excellent gym and contrary to other reviews, it was available without charge. Staff were friendly and courteous, but at times ineffective. Unfortunately, we encountered a string of problems during our stay. Some of these were addressed, but many were not. Room cleaning was often perfunctory, for example the layer of dust behind the headboard. Safe in room did not work, but they replaced it promptly Sockets near the desk area were unsafe and pulled out of the wall when used. Major safety issue. Reading light by bed broken. It took two days to get fixed Entrance light to room didn’t work, it never got fixed. Fixtures and fittings such as the clothes rack were broken. Breakfast was very limited, and items frequently ran out. Staff were overworked so struggled to replenish eggs, bread etc. Bread was poor quality as was the fresh fruit Breakfast choice is very limited, especially for vegetarians. On our last day we made a formal complaint about the above. We were seen by the bookings manager who promised to raise the matter with the general manager. She said that we would receive compensation, but 7 days after returning no communication from the management. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this hotel and my experience of staying there has now damaged my view of other Mercure and All Accor hotels.

The hotel is located conveniently near the train station. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful at check-in and at check-out. They gave us great service and kept our luggage for a couple of days. We enjoyed our stay here.

Dodgy neighbourhood, ants in the room, beetles in the breakfast coffee cups, bad drains smell. Do not stay here. I imagine this place will be demolished in a year or two. Building is old and beyond repair. Amazed a big brand like Mercure is risking the reputational damage by keeping it open.

The bed in the initial room was full of bed bugs. We noticed that something was crawling on our skin around 2 a.m. the bugs were all over the duvet and under the pillows. I was absolutely horrified. We were given another room which was in an outside part of the hotel. They did not show any remorse for the bites that came from the bed bugs. As the welts came up pretty quick and looked apparent especially on my sisters face... They gave us 2 free drinks the next day, which was of no use, but the attitude from the staff was so nonchalant that I was horrified and very disappointed. No remorse or duty of care for their guests, and the anxiety it caused. Couldn't relax at all, kept checking the beds to make sure nothing was crawling around. I have been to many destinations, never have i ever experienced bed bugs. Overall the hotel was ok but the staff were not helpful with information about the area. We were not given a kettle, you only get complimentary water the first day or night you arrive.

The air conditioning did not work. It allowed me to set it to a temperature that I wanted, however it did not lower the temperature of the room. It was over 28’C in the room all through the night. The room was basic.
