CANCELLED OUR STAY WHILE WE WERE ENROUTE FROM PITTSBURGH

I am a Marriott Elite Member, and have stayed at the Ritz and JW on this property. My family and I love that area, but this was the first time going as a family (5 adults, 1 child, and 1 infant). We were headed down to sunny Florida for Thanksgiving (Tuesday to Saturday) We needed a suite/space and the Marriott Reserve was a PERFECT option for us! The actual website through Marriott was sold out of the suites, so I looked at VRBO, and low and behold, there was 2 properties left, perfect for us! I booked right away and we were all very excited...that is until the Sunday before Thanksgiving, we get a call that the owner cancelled on us. My parents were literally enroute to the property because they were driving from Pittsburgh, and our flight was Tuesday. It was a complete crap shoot...how could the owner do this with no warning, and after we made plans for the rest of the week on this property and Disney. It was uncalled for to say the least. Joy, the representative that had to call us to let us know booked us at the Wyndam at Bonnet Creek for our troubles, except all the nights weren't available, so we had to scramble to find separate rooms from Tuesday to Wednesday at different hotels, then check in at the Wyndam, which the point of going to Florida for Thanksgiving was to be together. It was a hassle, but we made it work, all with an infant (and we rented a crib, which we had to rebook to the new hotels...rent baby gear Orlando, was FABULOUS and helped ease our stress). There was no compensation for our troubles other than one night was supposed to be refunded which we have yet to see. To the owner of this property...SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!
