Heart of Manteo Motor Lodge

"The room was clean and cool. early sign-in was helpful. Rates were good. The back part of the motel needs better handicap access to the main walkway. Parking spaces blocked access steps and the one ramp was not well built and was nearly impossible to use. For someone using a rollator or wheelchair, getting to the room is a problem. We did like the quietness of the facility at night. Cleaning staff were pleasant. The motel was perfect for someone planning to attend the Lost Colony play, just a short drive away."

Downtown Manteo with Secret Garden

"This was a charming cottage house close to town and only 15 minutes from the beach, maybe less. It was very clean. The bed was very comfortable, including pillows - thank you! The house is super charming and the gardens were really lovely. There is an old theater two blocks away with delicious popcorn and great classic movies. I walked the waterfront boardwalk daily and stopped in a number of the shops in town and drove to the beach daily, which was a beautiful drive over the bridge. Roanoke Island is wonderful - highly recommend !"

"The house was light and inviting. It was beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable. We had a slight problem with one of the toilets and it was addressed and fixed quickly. Patrick addressed any correspondence with him in a timely manner. Everything about the house was top notch. We enjoyed our time there."
