Tenuta Poggio Guiano- Property with pool and views of Lake Bolsena

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tenuta Poggio Guiano!! The property is immaculate and had every modern amenity anyone could wish for. The AC was amazing as the temps were quite high when were were there. The pool is gorgeous and the view is beautiful! We were a big family group of 7 adults and 8 Kids. We loved hanging out in the big common room ("area relax"). The communal kitchen was also great. (The larger units also have their own kitchens.) The hosts could not have been better. They were wonderful. They helped us before, during and after our stay....booking an evening boat trip on Lake Bolsena, helping us decide what places to visit, booking dinner reservations, and teaching us to cook gnocchi! The area is an undiscovered gem with far fewer tourists than I've encountered in other areas of Italy. The village near the property, San Lorenzo Nuovo, has a good restaurant, coffee places, gelaterias, pharmacy, and small grocery store. It's an easy walk from the property. We enjoyed a couple of days on the lake itself which is a volcanic lake with very clear water. The town of Bolsena is also an easy one to visit. There are several great places to visit nearby. We really enjoyed Civita and Orvieto...both about 30 minute drive away."

"A Truly Unforgettable Stay in GradoliOur family had the most incredible time at this home. To be honest, I wish I could gatekeep this place and all its specialness so fewer tourists would find out about it! The home itself is a perfect blend of historic Italian charm and modern amenities. It was spotless, had a breathtaking view, a hot tub, pool, a washer, dishwasher, and air conditioning—everything we could possibly need. Her mother, Chef Lidia, even came to the home and made us homemade gnocchi and tiramisu. It was so delicious we had her come back for a second time at the end of our trip!The location is a dream. The town of Gradoli is so quaint and picturesque, and it’s a short drive to the slightly bigger city of Bolsena, without the hustle and crowds of places like Florence. We effortlessly rented a boat locally and went out on Lake Bolsena.However, the absolute best part of our stay was the hospitality of our host, Daniela. She went above and beyond to make our trip special. She coordinated tennis for my husband and me at a local club just five minutes away, even though the owner didn't speak English. She also called local gyms to confirm we could drop in. When we took a trip to Florence for an evening, she sent us her favorite food and entertainment spots.This home truly felt like a special experience, and we have already booked our return for next year. We can't recommend this place and Daniela's hospitality enough."
