COVID-19 may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't halted our love of exploring. Here are some tips on how to deal with travel's new challenges:

• Before committing to anything, check if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by checking government travel advisories.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it to verify your identity. Those who refuse to wear a face mask may be fined and denied entry.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, place it directly on the reader yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on bag. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to remove it from your bag for X-ray screening.
• Place any personal items (phone, wallet and keys for example) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA officer will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
