Character Cottage with fabulous mountain views in the North Lakes District

Stay at Erika's Cottage in a great location in the Lake District National Park with fantastic views of Blencathra, and the Mungrisedale Fells and the Dodds and Helvellyn Range to the south. This characterful one-bedroom cottage sits next to a private woodland where you may catch sight of the resident red squirrels and enjoy watching the other wildlife such as pheasants, birds of prey, woodpecker and stoats.

The cosy living room has wifi, 4K Ultra HD Smart TV and Nest Thermostat so that you can control your cottage temperature.

Erika's Cottage sits in a fantastic position to explore the Lake District with Ullswater only 6 miles away with its lakeside villages of Pooley Bridge and Glenridding; Keswick and Derwentwater are only 12 minutes drive away, and there is easy access to the rest of the Lake District.

There are plenty of welcoming pubs in the area and the nearest the Troutbeck Inn is just 1 mile away in Troutbeck Village; there is also a great farm shop 3 miles away on the A66.

The cottage is for a maximum of 2 people and well-behaved dogs are very welcome (small pet fee).

Lovely cottage

This was our first stay in a cottage in troutbeck but will definitely be back .there is everything u need from oven , vac , washer , bed was comfortable and bathroom was beautiful. Great outdoor space which was secure , great for our two dogs to play safely. And the stunning mountains were a plus , pub just under 2 mile and a farm shop a few mile away .

Fabulous views!!

Lovely cottage! Had most all amenities one could want. Absolutely breathtaking views! I know it's a pet property but only complaint would be the very wet dog smell. We don't have a dog. I think updated rugs in the cottage might make a huge difference. Was fortunate to see a red squirrel. Would not hesitate to come back.

Lovely cottage in beautiful location

The cottage was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with modern kitchen & bathroom, a comfy sofa and bed and beautiful views. It is tucked away in a peaceful location but only a short drive from Derwent Water and Ullswater so there’s plenty to see and do nearby. The secure garden was perfect for our dog. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage to couples / singles who want a peaceful location.

Lovely little cottage.

Lovely little cottage, close to Penrith, keswick and ullswater so plenty of options for things to do. The cottage is ideal for the two of us and the pooch, and is our second time staying there and most likely will be returning next year. We even saw a red squirrel which was very nice, though it was too fast for a photograph. The bed is comfy and the shower is amazing after a long walk. It's pretty much got everything you need. Another great stay at Erikas cottage.

Perfect place to stay to relax or explore. I loved it and so did my Border Collie

Lovely Property with stunning views. The fully enclosed garden was great for relaxing with my Border Collie which I did most days after a nice long walk down the lane outside the bungalow. The location is good for exploring the Lake District but the main purpose of my visit was to relax and recharge and this was the ideal place too do so. I can highly recommend the property and will be definitively be visiting again.

We stayed here for three nights. The cottage is lovely and has everything you could need and more. Everything inside was lovely and clean. Only one downside was that the patio furniture is a bit worse for wear and could do with updating. Views are spectacular.

Room with a view!

Erika's cottage was clean, well equipped and in a quiet location. The view of Blencathra from the back of the cottage is beautiful and we loved seeing the red squirrels who were daily visitors. We didn't meet our hosts so can't comment on them but the emails via VRBO were adequate and we found our way in and around easily. The extra information about the area was very welcome. My only comment about our arrival is that the cottage was extremely cold and it took a while for it to warm up. The heating seemed to be set at 10 degrees and it was a cold day - otherwise all was great.

Cant really fault the property, location is extremely quiet. Directions were very good, maybe consider using what three words (not a criticism) Views are fantastic too. A small welcome pack would have been appreciated.

A Glorious Cottage with a Glorious View

Our stay at Erika’s Cottage was beyond compare! It is so well situated with a view of Blencathra. It is wonderful to watch the sun set behind the peaks in the chairs in the backyard. It has all the modern conveniences you could need and then some. This cottage has many visitors and now I can see why. We had a quiet pleasant stay. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back! Nearby- recommend the Trouckbeck Inn and White Horse Pub for a meal. Recommend calling for reservations since both are quite busy.

Fantastic break in the Lake District

My Wife and I booked Erika's Cottage for a short break in the Lakes with our Pooch and we had a fantastic time! The property had everything you needed after some long wet walks over the hills and round the lakes. It was very cozy and in a very quiet area with pretty much just sheep and cows for company. But only a few minutes away from Keswick for supplies, or a few minutes in the other direction for the local farm shop, which was well stocked. Many thanks to Pete & Debbie for letting us stay in their lovely cottage. I would definitely recommend Erika's Cottage for couples looking to explore the Lake District, being dog friendly too is a great boon!

Okay for a short stay

Fantastic location & views. Very basic which let it down. Not great when you travelled 4hrs on the road & not find any milk in fridge for a cup of tea. Lovely shower but all the mould let it down (even the fake plant was covered in mould). Tiny bath towels and no blind on window,Hole in fence has not been fixed but some broken chairs put in front which didn't take my dogs long to figure out & no outside light in garden so i had to use my phone torch to make sure they did not escape at night. It's a shame as this place could be exceptional if money was spent on it with a few homely touches & a welcome pack.

Fabulous location

The cottage was just perfect for me and my dog as a base in the eastern Lakes. The views of Blencathra from the sitting room & garden were magnificent. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and we thorough enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.
