The area is used extensively in the current popular TV series, Poldark, and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trewellard village provides a choice of restaurants and three pubs all within walking distance, along with local stores and a pottery and craft shop. St Just, a short drive or bus ride away, has its own selection of shops, restaurants and pubs.
Evidence of its past mining history can be seen dotted around including the famous Crown Mines, engine houses perched on the cliff face which are visible on the popular coastal walk. The Geevor Tin Mine and Heritage Centre is just a few hundred yards away as is the Levant steam engine, which can be seen working on certain days. Cape Cornwall Club is 3 miles away and open to all. This is a stunning and challenging golf course overlooking the Brisons Rocks.
This area offers dramatic scenery, beautiful coves, beaches and miles of heather-clad moorlands. Enjoy cliff walks to nearby Pendeen Lighthouse, or a scenic drive to St Ives with a harbour, art galleries including The Tate Modern and Barbara Hepworth Museum, and an abundance of restaurants, cafés and glorious beaches.
