"The pillows are flat & hard."

"My issue with this hotel is not as much about the actual hotel as the inability for the owner to have any level of compassion. I live out of state and stayed booked a room at this hotel because my brother passed away and this was the closest to my family. While flying into SC, I experienced a medical emergency that included losing consciousness on the first leg of the flight from EWR to IAD. I was taken off the airplane in a wheelchair, transferred to a gurney and taken to a local ER where I stayed overnight for tests to be run and monitoring. I missed my check in which was on the same day. I was discharged later the following day. Before I could even think about contacting the airline, they contacted me to initiate a refund of the remaining leg of my flight. I contacted Expedia (who I scheduled with) to inquire about a rental car refund and hotel refund. The rental car fee was waived but this hotel refused to refund my money. Before I learned this, I rebooked another room with them in good faith, again to be close to family in a difficult time. After rebooking, I learned they would not refund the missed checked in so I promptly rebooked the next four nights with a respectable and clean hotel. All I can say is, greed."

"Even if the hotel is not the Ritz with all bells and whistles, it is highly recommended to keep it clean. The carpet is smelly, needs serious cleanup. Vacuuming should be done thoroughly, sheets should be replaced by newer ones. Everything looks and feels old. Access to the hotel should be advertised by the curb, I missed the entrance and drove on rt20 up to exit 58 to only return and enter the hidden path to it. The only positive thing was the change of rooms I asked about. Having a knee surgery climbing stairs is not pleasant so the lady working at the reception was very nice and switched my room with one situated on first floor. This location needs serious care!"

"The place was nothing like the pictures. It was all run down the landscaping is so run down you can’t get your car inside the garage. There was a tiny tiny trash can for kitchen so we had to get one that was bigger so we could throw away trash. There was mouse poop in the kitchen cabinets and dirty with food crumbs. It was disgusting. Very poor job keeping up with the house cleaning. "

"We were very disappointed with the cleanliness and overall condition of this home. Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was how dirty it was—there were long black hairs all over the wooden stairs, popcorn in the cabinet next to the trash can, and no trash bags in any of the bins. It was immediately clear that the home had not been properly cleaned.The issues continued throughout the house. There were dishes left in the drying rack, stained couches, a dead mosquito inside the refrigerator, a broken cabinet in the upstairs bathroom, and very dirty walls in the main bathroom. Basic kitchen items were also missing, such as oven mitts.The bedding situation was especially frustrating. The main bed did not have a fitted sheet—just a loud mattress protector and very flat, uncomfortable pillows. When we checked the closet for sheets, we found multiple fitted sheets folded in the closet, but all of them were still damp. We attempted to wash them, only to discover there was no laundry detergent provided and balls of old lint on the windowsill.To make matters worse, the back door was unlocked when we arrived, which felt unsafe given we were unfamiliar with the area.Overall, this property did not meet even basic cleanliness standards, and we would not recommend staying here."
