Grandview Lake Placid

"The view from the Grandview was magnificent! I loved the Adirondack chairs for reading on the patio outside our room (upper rooms had balconies) and the large sone patio for groups to hang out outside together. Though I did not use the pool or hot tub there were many families who did. The breakfast was awesome, being able to get the buffet or just order from the menu, with the made to order omelets being a high point. The dinners were great and dining room ceiling was so high it felt like eating in a medieval hall. Last, and maybe best of all, the bed was very comfortable."

"Ted’s cottage was the perfect home base for our family vacation. He was extremely accommodating and left the property in pristine condition when we arrived. The home is very comfortable with a lovely porch overlooking whiteface mountain and only a short drive to Lake Placid. I would recommend this property for small families and small groups and would absolutely stay again. Thank you again for a wonderful stay, Ted!"
Lake Placid Chalet: Deck & Forest Views!

"We absolutely loved the chalet and lake placid as a tourist destination for our family. The chalet itself is welcoming and attractive. We truly appreciated the host's attention to detail and generosity. For instance, while the beds were made up and towels left out, there were also extra towels and sheets accessible and available to us. Not all VRBOs we've stayed with do this!! My sons enjoyed having the loft space to themselves. They watched marvel movies at night while my husband and I read and listened to a baseball game downstairs with relatively little volume issue. The patio, fire pit, etc. are exactly as described. The hosts also leave a plethora of information to make your stay comfortable and efficient. Note from previous guests, pamphlets from local attractions, and recommendations are all around, helping us narrow our choices! I slept like a rock every night we were there. I closed my eyes and opened them the next morning when my alarm went off. That is not usually the case for me, so I can only say the mountain air and the comfortable bed were responsible!! Once again, we really appreciated John & Julie and their hospitality and attention to detail. My younger son has decided that he wants to buy the house, so I guess we'll be back!!!"

"This is a great place for large groups. The primary bedroom is a true wonder and so is the dining space. It’s also very convenient and comfortable to stay at while visiting lake placid if you’re traveling with a big group. The house was also very clean and is very tastefully decorated."

"We’ve stayed here several years & always love the location! The house is comfortable & has just about everything you’d need in kitchen, laundry & bath. The fire pit overlooking the river was equipped with a large bundle of firewood & was a wonderful way to spend the beautiful evening with family & friends! A thunderstorm apparently knocked out the TV cable & was not available for the 4 days we were there…but in the end I enjoyed the quiet! We hope to be back again next year to enjoy the beautiful Keene Valley in South his charming home!"

"The house was amazing. The Great Room was great with a wonderful fireplace that created such as warm and cozy space. The rooms were spacious and cozy. The kitchen was great, plenty of counter space and all to the kitchen gadgets and tools you'll need. Colleen and Mark were fabulous hosts and communicated with us. We had to make a change to our plans and move the reservation by one week; they accommodated us and helped make everything perfect."

"Adorable cottage, well appointed with everything we needed! Ted was a friendly host who stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed! Even hung out a lacrosse flag for my daughter who had a tournament! Easy trip into Placid. Would stay again!"
