Outdated/Dirty
The property had many issues:
Rotten steps
Dirty-Moldy-Stains on everything
Broker refrigerator, washing machine, grill, furniture
Outdated appliances
No working cable
Location to beach was nice but not worth the condition of the property.
Property Manager tried to help but is at mercy of the owner. No feedback except - Sorry
Neglected property with notes everywhere that if you break something (that is already broken) they will charge you.
Stephanie at the property management company was very helpful. The house was perfectly located on the quiet beach. Our family enjoyed looking for shark teeth, relaxing in the sun, and cooking on the grill. The house had plenty of towels, bedding, and a big living room/kitchen area to enjoy family time. We can’t wait to come back to Palm Island & would stay at the house again.
Great beach house. You feel like you are practically in the gulf. With the 180 degree view, it's going to please most vacationers.
The home is roomy for a 2 bed/2 bath
We had a great time!
Everything was wonderful! We didn’t want to leave the place. The only thing that I would suggest to make it perfect is having an updated refrigerator. That would allow more space for food, so you wouldn’t have to leave the island (and pay the $55 fee to get back on the island every time) if you didn’t want/need to. Even just having useable shelves inside the refrigerator would make a big difference.
We had a good time till we realized we had bedbug bites. Now we have to go through a lot of effort and money to make sure we did not transfer them to our house. Dont stay unless they prove it was treated professionally

Working Vacation Getaway
Check-in was very easy and convenient next to a Publix to grab food for a 5 day stay on the island. We arrived to a swarm of love bugs that found their way into the house. There were hundreds inside and we spent several hours cleaning the inside and outside. We were charged a cleaning fee and definitely left the place cleaner than before we arrived. There was tree removal the day of our arrival and the stumps were not trimmed down. I almost tore my bumper off of my brand new Jeep when trying to park in the tiny driveway. The management company should be more accommodating to people with service dogs because we were charged a non-refundable “pet” fee. We honestly just wanted to get away for 5 days and not argue. They said it wasn’t up to them but the homeowners association making that decision. Three days into our stay we got a text from the management company saying that our other two guests were not on the paperwork and needed to leave. The trip was just my girlfriend and I with our dogs the entire time! This property has a great location but needs a lot of updates. We spent hours during our stay washing down the stairs and windows from the massive amount of love bugs they made a home on the property. We didn’t see any other house that was like the one we stayed at with bug issues. It was a complete infestation that took days to clear up with cleaning. Bugs were crawling through the windows that had little or no weather proofing. In the end we just wanted to relax on the beach. I bet if the property owner knew the management company neglected to maintain the home and clean they would be very upset. We treated this place like it was our own home and spent a lot of time cleaning so we could use the home.
We love this island & this is the second time we have stayed at this house. The house is lovely and the location on the beach with the bay behind is absolutely idyllic! The Tarpon staff were so fabulous to work with and made rescheduling this trip (due to COVID) seamless! The house was very clean and well-stocked. The only thing keeping us from a five star rating is that the living room furniture is very uncomfortable. That one change would make us regulars! Thank you for a great stay.

Great location House needs attention
Great location. House needs upkeep. Gas grill grossly dirty and not usable. Needs replacement light bulbs and batteries for flashlights. Bath hooks falling out of walls. Screens missing from some windows. Broken switches in lamps. Rusty shower caddy. Storm damage from 12.20 not fixed before or during our stay that started two days later. TVs do not work. Soffits ripped off.
Great location. Very peaceful and relaxing beach. We have rented several vacation homes and never complained about them. This home had SO many items that did not work, it was almost shocking. The fridge was on its last leg. Two of the door shelves were broken entirely off. A note on the door threatened that "if you overload it and break it, you will be charged for repairs". The toaster did not work. The microwave was rusted out and we were afraid to turn it on. The start button fell off of the washing machine. The washer/dryer were stacked up in a rigged fashion. So, the washing machine worked its way out of the closet and could not be pushed back into the closet. So, the closet door could not be closed w/o having it come off of its track. The blinds to the BEAUTIFUL beach did not work. The windows with a view to the beach were permanently dirty. The sofas in the family room were horribly uncomfortable. The shower controls in both showers were not working. One of the toilets had a sign that said that it might not work properly and that we would be charged it there was a problem. There were only two wash cloths in the house. It was disappointing.
We had a great time and the property manager was great! We had the beach to ourselves, tennis court steps away, great little boat dock behind the house with access to intercoastal minutes away (no T-tops, fixed bridges).
Well the views are amazing. The beach is quiet. And I love that dogs are welcome ion the beach. That's one reason we chose Palm Island. We have 2 small chihuahua and one medium dog we wanted to take .
The owner said pet friendly so I asked about my dogs.. She said no . Only 2.. and so I said I'd get a sitter for one chihuahua
( chopper) .She was very adamant about only 2 dogs and sent a email and said didn't even rent to us when we said we'd get a babysitter for chopper :-0 ...
but I assured her I would get a babysitter for one dog, and she relented... and changed her mind.
I would have been fine with that ... had I not walked onto the house with " horribly stained rugs,"...??? Both the dining and living room rugs.. nothing BUT stains,, and a rip on the edge main living room one.
Also, there are hard. boards under the couch seats ,( super uncomfortable!!!! ) broken refrigerator door things inside where you put your condiments,. and a room downstairs for chairs , hammoks, toys, ect that was a " disaster." It was half full to the ceiling of thrown in broken chairs and junk!!!
and I just couldn't understand how they could be so picky about 1 more chihuahua with rugs like that??????
So, other than the house being in desperate need of some upgrades and repairs (top wood on the end of the bar downstairs is broken too) ,roof needs repairs...
Other than that It was a nice view and the beds were comfortable, and if you like quiet beaches with hardly any people This is the island for you. That was my favorite part. No people.
We had a wonderful stay at the home. Very quiet, relaxing, great home had everything we needed in a vacation home. Rent the golf cart it's well worth it. The Island is beautiful! And all of the full timers that live there are very friendly as well ! The restaurant is very affordable and the food is great, drinks are wonderful! We look forward to going back next yr.

Breathtaking view !
We were amazed at the breathtaking view of the Gulf!
The house is so secluded and the area pristine. We fell
in love with Palm Island.
*we were bummed about the golf cart. We tried for
8 months to find out about a cart before going. 😢
EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT, BETTER THAN THE PICTURES, AND THE HOUSE HAD A GOLF CART TO GET AROUND THE ISLAND.
THE PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY HAD SUCH PLEASANT STAFF. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN!
Love the location and privacy. Windows need washing on outside, couches need to be replaced, area rugs need cleaning and window blinds on ocean side need to be fixed. Tv in living room does not work properly. However, we loved the house and are renting again next year. Just a few tweaks and it will be perfect. Have rented one other house on island but this one is our favorite. Tarpon realty is wonderful.
