Nice staff, clean quarters lovely bathroom No WiFi didn’t enquire though as it wasn’t required, next to road but didn’t really notice, excellent breakfast good choice available from 07:30, café Nespresso in room was great, decent TV

Very cosy pub with delicious food. The room was big, comfy and immaculately clean. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Really good value too. Would definitely stay there again if visiting Plymouth.

Good base for Plymouth
Rooms were spotless, well equipped and fittings were of a high standard. Had an evening meal in the pub, which was fine although a little more choice would be good. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Staff were helpful and attentive throughout. 20 minute drive into Plymouth. Recommended for a weekend stay.

Really nice place, rooms in a separate building to the pub, well presented and very clean. Loads of free parking, generous nicely cooked breakfast, friendly, helpful staff team. Location is great for getting to local attractions, beaches etc.

Excellent value for money. Nicely appointed room with everything you need and the pub has an excellent choice of both food and drinks. The draught ales were all excellent. As the rooms are in a separate building from the pub the accomodation was very quiet at all times. Overall a really excellent stay

OK, but.......
We arrived late so did not eat at the pub. Parking was safe and convenient. The accomodation is in a converted property next to the pub. We had Room #5 which was small and noisy because it faced the road. The bed was a really small double. The bathroom was also very small. Traffic noise started at 6am. Other rooms were larger with bigger beds and some were not facing the road. There was good choice of cooked food for breakfast though the 'continental' selection was not up to much. Poached eggs were overdone. Overall, we were disappointed given the excellent reviews by other customers.

Excellent establishment with exceptional service
Excellent experience from check in to check out. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was made from quality ingredients and cooked perfectly in accordance with my specific requests. Room was clean and of an adequate size. I had intended to stay elsewhere but a significant price increase just before I was ready to book caused me to look for an alternative. I found this reasonably price establishment which turned out to be a gem so I was well chuffed with the outcome.

Just a flying visit before a day of work in Plymouth but a warm welcome, comfortable room, good food and good value by comparison. I would have no hesitation in booking again.

Had a lovely stay for 1 night for our Anniversary. The room was lovely and big with the added extras like Hot chocolate biscuits tea and coffee. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was a king size and was super comfy and lovely fluffy bath sheets. The staff was super friendly check in was easy and we were shown to our room and was even offered a hand with our luggage. Food was great for our evening meal, considering this was the first night they had done a menu as they have been so short of chefs they have only had a pizza menu running. Breakfast was also faultless you have a wide selection of continental or a hot food menu. Would definitely return if in that neck of the woods again.

One of the Best Stays Ever!
Cannot speak highly enough of this great stay, the warm welcome, the guidance for walks around local areas. The river Yealm walk was incredible. The room and cleaning staff was fabulous. The Breakfast was amazing, as was the Breakfast staff. Bar was something I would expect in a 5 star, quite huge with a huge variety of beverages. The restaurant Menu looked amazing albeit we were eating at a wedding, great reviews from others though. 10/10 we would most definately visit again. Superb place and attention to detail. Elemis products was also a big hit as my Fave! Big thanks to a great Team at the Rose & Crown, Over an above my expectations. Hope to be back again.

A night away from the kids...
Nice rooms in an older building...on a main road so a bit of road noise but nothing too intrusive. Really enjoyed our stay .dinner was good (maybe ease off a little on the rosemary in the panna cotta)...breakfast fresh and hot and welcome on New Years Day morning. Thank you for a nice stay

great staff could,nt be more helpful breakfast was excellent with a great choice and again staff great, evening meal was just again excellent with our waitress jackie going above and beyond to make things perfect,food we had was one of the best we,ve had in a pub/b/b even down to letting us have an extra member of our family for breakfast,the over night room ( 2nights)was warm clean and very comfy with tea/coffee and nice big tv,we will defo be booking again in the new year when we visit family in elburton. overall a great place to stay.

Deserves Its Crown
I really wish it wasn't a flying visit for work because I would have liked to have stayed for longer in such a nice pub. Timings meant there wasn't time to sample an evening meal (although the food smelled delicious) but the Full English breakfast was extremely well-presented and tasty with obviously local produce, including delicious sausages and lovely thick bacon. The room was spacious, warm and with a great comfy bed. I hope we get a chance to stay here again when we're not so rushed.

Great hotel, it is separate from the pub itself. The staff are all friendly and great. The breakfast is nice. The only two things I con I can say is that due to the room facing the main road the cars driving past will keep you up. The gas satation across the road will also keep you up. Not the hotels fault may be they can do something internally to block the noise. The wifi signal in our room was next to none we had to make do without.

Taking into account we were charged twice for our two night stay and promised 3 times over 3 weeks that we would be refunded the double charge, the room had no shampoo, milk for coffee or hand sanitizer! I would not have minded if the room was cheap but to pay £128 per night for a room in a pub, it was very poor service. :(

Superb 3 night stay.
Excellent place to stay for walking the beginning of the 2 moors way. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. Our room was comfortable with all amenities replenished each day. We ate in the pub & the restaurant & the food was excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here to anyone.
