Waterfront Beach House-Apt. 1 Block from Kingston, Restaurants and Two Ferries

"Very attentive host, great location, exceptionally well equipped (even beyond what was listed) for a vacation rental. Recently remodelled so everything was very clean and fresh. Very nice ocean view. But balancing this was frequent cigarette smoke billowing down from adjacent unit -- I would have mentioned this to the host who requested to be contacted for any issue but was concerned that as a visible minority (in Kingston, anyway) that I might be retaliated against by the smoker. Also, because this is a presumably remodelled basement unit, air circulation wasn't great and there was an occasional musty/fishy smell which could have been coming from the harbor or the unit itself. Finally, though it didn't impact us, for those who might be coming on a wet day, the access to the unit could be over a potentially muddy slippery path. But, all in all a very good stay and I would recommend the unit to anyone who understood the tradeoffs."

"Our stay over the weekend was fantastic! Our host was incredible and communication was great. The amenities were above and beyond what we expected. My only issue is with the communication through expedia. Overall, if you are looking for a place to stay in that area, this is a real gem."

"Our stay in Kingston was truly made memorable by our VRBO home away from home. The setting was incredible, quite literally on the water. The house itself was perfect: quaint yet thoughtfully updated. The owners clearly went to great lengths to preserve its 1960s–1970s charm while still ensuring everything works exactly as a modern traveler hopes. Nothing felt hastily renovated or “thrown up in a weekend”; the character of the home shines through in every room.Our host was wonderfully attentive from the moment we checked in, offering guidance on things to do in the Kingston area—local gems we never would have found in a guidebook. The kitchen was easy to work in, the bathrooms all functioned flawlessly, and the pickleball court was so close to the deck that we joked it might actually be part of the deck. Our kids—and let’s be honest, we adults too—played nearly every day.Grocery stores were just around the bend with plenty of options, and restaurants were everywhere you turned. We loved watching the tides roll in and out, and our strolls down to the dock rewarded us with eagles and other wildlife that made us feel like we were starring in our own nature documentary.But the best part? My wife looked around, took a deep breath of that Kingston air, and said, “I could live here.” And honestly, I couldn’t agree more. What a wonderful place."
