"We stayed at Hotel Du Vin in Poole as a treat for my birthday and were hoping for a special experience. The location is great and it was a nice touch that they left two small truffles chocolates in the room for my birthday. However, there were a few disappointing things. The bath still had cleaning product left on it when we arrived, so we had to wait for this to be sorted. We also didn’t sleep well as the pillows went flat quickly and the bed was very firm. The room menu mentioned fresh milk in the fridge, but this apparently stopped after Covid and instead there were small long-life milk pots, which felt a bit underwhelming. Breakfast was also disappointing – the poached eggs were very slimy and no one checked on us during the meal. This isn't the service I'd expect for £24 for breakfast each. When checking out I mentioned everything had only been “fine”, but this didn’t seem to be picked up on by the receptionist. Overall, a lovely location but not quite the experience we expected for a birthday treat."

"From peeling wallpaper to worn out fabrics and cheap pillows … the bathroom was new though … breakfast times were 9:00 to 9:30 😵‍💫 race on for that one … But staff helpful and great location…. But the whole place needs an uplift "

"Fabulous food, wonderful staff, the room was exceptional in taste, style and comfort. Only downside sadly was single glazing and the noisy traffic. But a truly fabulous place with the best staff. Would highly recommend and hope they can get double glazing! "

"Lovely receptionist breakfast was expensive for what was given and the guy taking orders was rude! Room needs upgrading scratches on table musky smell.And what part of my room was nautical themed I will never know! "

"Lovely house in a perfect location. Loved the sunset/sunrise and watching the Oystercatchers etc. Great to walk into Poole and also explore the local area. Got the ferry over to Studland and walked to old Harry Rocks. Plenty of places for walking and bird watching. Great host, really quick to respond to messages and send information "
