Porec is rightly considered one of the most attractive holiday resorts in Istria, with its lush vegetation, beaches and numerous leisure activities. The old town centre is particularly beautiful with its ancient monuments, some of which reflect 1,900 years of history. For example, the remains of two Roman temples and the famous Eufrasiana Basilica with its mosaics are still preserved. Interesting excursions into the surrounding hills to the charming little farming villages. You also have the opportunity to go hiking in the woods around the house.

Location description : Porec is a museum town in the truest sense of the word. Although its origins go back to prehistoric times, it only developed into an important centre in Roman times. Very early on, at the end of the 3rd century, it was the first Istrian town to become a bishop's see. The Middle Ages left behind valuable evidence. Under Austrian rule, Porec became the capital of Istria, where the Istrian regional parliament met from 1861. The old part of the town has retained its Roman-urban structure of rectangular, block-shaped buildings, and in the network of streets and squares it is easy to recognise the connection of two main streets, the longest of which still bears the name "Dekumanska ulica". The most important monument of the architectural heritage is undoubtedly the basilica built by Bishop Euphrasius of Porec in the middle of the 6th century. Get to know the country and its people during your holiday.other sports and leisure activities : We recommend excursions in the Istrian hinterland.excursion possibilities : Plitvice Lake, Fishpicnick, Venice with Catamaran, Baredine Grotto
