Lovely quiet garden area with pool for relaxing. Light airy mezzanine apartment with garden view. Few more coat hangers needed and coasters to protect furniture from hot drinks. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby street but not noisy, lovely few days stay.

We, a group of friends, spent a rainy October week in Porto. Staying in Aparthotel Oporto Alves da Veiga was a very good choice, as the place has an exceptionally good location and very nice apartments with all convenience of a home. But the biggest asset ( in our humble opinion) is reception manager Joana. She is the hostess every traveler could dream of: welcoming, professional, resourceful. Her knowledge of the area and readiness to happily share it made our stay even more enjoyable and efficient. We highly recommend this hotel and it will be our hotel of choice when we come back to see sunny Porto.

A comfortable stay at a convenient location
We have had an excellent and comfortable stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly and the check in was smooth. The room itself was comfortable with a lovely kitchen. The location was brilliant which is not far from everything. We mainly walked to the places we wanted to go. Uber is easy if you get tired of walking around the hilly Porto. The building itself was renovated to a good standard. I particularly love the staircase right in the middle of the building itself. Also, the garden with the pool is just a bonus when you just wanna chill out in the sunny afternoon.

Great flat-style room about 15 minutes from the heart of Porto. Helpful staff with local recommendations, and cozy garden pool. Everything was clean, and our package with Expedia provided breakfast directly to our door. We lucked out!

Our stay here was excellent! The hotel is located in a quaint street just a short 15 min walk from the train station and some of the major sights. The building is a hidden gem: a beautiful winding staircase, gorgeous decor, and a garden that will make you want to stay there all day. The AC and elevator were also a huge plus. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They even gave us great suggestions for local restaurants. I highly recommend this place! P.S. Check out Tomás Cofee Brunch for breakfast. It’s a 3 min walk from the hotel and the food was wonderful.

Surprisingly gorgeous. Stayed in the family duplex with a living room/kitchen upstairs and 2 full beds downstairs. We arrived very late but were sent clear check-in instructions. They held our bags during the day while we were out exploring before a late night flight. Only complaint - wish there were napkins or papertowels in the kitchen!

FABULOUS - Don't miss this hidden gem
If you come to Porto, stay here! I can't say enough good things about this hotel. From the communication before we arrived, to the free parking, to the fabulous location...but that doesn't say enough! The friendliness of the staff was beyond belief, and our wonderful (enormous) room with the terrace overlooking the street provided us with so much enjoyment! We opened the door to our beautiful room to find that we'd been given an AMAZING upgrade (the staff didn't even say anything at check-in...it was just a kind gesture) and immediately ran out to the terrace to enjoy a bottle of wine and the views across Porto's beautiful rooftops. The terrace was big enough that I was even able to exercise in the sunshine outside before having my coffee from the wonderful machine they provided us. It was a brief stopover en route to the Algarve, and our only regret was that we hadn't planned to stay longer to enjoy the beautiful garden and pool on the property. We WILL return to Porto, and we WILL stay at this hotel. It's a must, and I can't wait to come back. Thanks to the staff for their kindness and humour!

Great hotel
We have stayed at the hotel twice and have had 2 different rooms. Both rooms were very roomy and perfect for families. The units have a kitchen so you are able to make your own meals if you would like. Plus a good size freezer and refrigerator. The staff is very friendly and will get your into your unit early if they can.

The apartment was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The location was great - easily walkable from the metro, very close to shopping and amenities, and still walkable to tourist sites. The person who checked me in was incredible - super helpful and welcoming. He gave me all kinds of useful information and recommendations, right down to bus numbers and prices, describing local food specialties and good local restaurants to get them at.

Just what we wanted
This hotel may not have street presence (aside from its fantastic front door) but then the street doesn't initially appear appealing... However it's a real gem. Behind the original facade of the historic building are modern appartments with all that we needed. Most of the city's sights - and loads of places to eat - are within walking distance; and the garden and pool are a delight. The reception staff were particularly helpful with suggestions and advice.

Great accommodation, friendly staff
We enjoyed being close, but not too close to much of the main area of Porto. It was all very walkable and nice to have the pool. Also awesome that it had 2 full bathrooms and 2 levels for sleeping. Lower level had a closed off bedroom which opened up into the main space with a murphy bed and full bath. For a longer stay, it's nice that it had a full kitchen.

Overall, this is a nice place but way over priced for what it is. They have the basics and nothing more (we had to buy toilet paper, dish soap, salt/pepper, coffee, etc). The kitchen had the very basics to cook with - which is why we chose to stay in apartments rather than hotels on our vacations. Pool isn’t heated and our apartment faced an incredibly noisy road (couldn’t hear anything if the window me were left open). We won’t stay here again or recommend it.

Recommended.
I chose this apartment because it looked as if it had character and I wasn’t disappointed. The street outside looks a bit shabby but once you are through the big front door the entrance, stairway and the apartments are well decorated, have quirky features and are very clean. Ours was at the front of the building and therefore we did get some noise from the street. Ana on reception was very welcoming and gave us lots of useful information which helped us enjoy our weekend in Porto. The 2 day yellow bus ticket with boat trip and cellar visit was good value. I would recommend these apartments and they are in easy walking distance of the main sights, bars and restaurants.

Apart hotel hide away in convenient spot
Looks very unassuming from the street but a little oasis with a beautiful garden and pool in the courtyard and at the rear. Very spacious apartment with good double beds and perfect bathrooms - all modern and well fitted. Staff very helpful and keen to assist. Only disappointment was failure for continental breakfast to arrive in morning but money refunded without any fuss and no problem as plenty of cafes nearby.

Quite simply an amazing stay. The things which stood out: 1. The fact we were able to arrange an earlier than planned check-in following a very early flight from UK. 2. Great apartment, with helpful and delightful hosts. In a great location with a fantastic garden and a fun pool. Stairs are a bit of a killer, but it is worth it.

Roomy and quiet. close to lots of restaurants. Walking distance to everything in old Porto and the river.

Would stay here again
Upgraded apartment style accommodations. Great amenities with large backyard sitting area and clean pool. Best part was the helpful property manager. As they are adding to the number of apartments-hope they add more staff so the added benefits of having a property manager available to help is kept.

Hotel with duplex rooms!
We were not impressed by the check-in as we arrived an hour after the time the hotel told us the room would be ready, but still it wasn’t ready, so we had to walk around the town for an hour so that the hotel could prepare our room. However, apart from this, we got a duplex room and it was spacious and clean. It’s really a good value for money and it made our overall experience there still great.

Great Location
Arriving there was easy. We took the Metro from the Airport to the Bolhão station and the Hotel was a 4 minute walk from there. We were greeted by Aida, the Hotel manager. She was very helpful in providing us with all the tourist information we needed for our stay. The room was comfortable. It was on two floors with the kitchen, living area and a bathroom upstairs and the bedroom and second bathroom downstairs. The room was well equipped and clean but there was construction next door which was outside our window so it was noisy every morning.
