This hotel is top notch. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Porto. There may be a little initial confusion as to how to get to the hotel. Taxi may drop you pretty far away if not properly instructed. Best way I found, was being dropped off and picked up at Igreja de Sao Pedro de Miragaiar, and walking from there(only about 200ft/60 meters or so). From the food, drinks, accommodations, and service, the stay was amazing. Be sure to check out the rooftop. Will be back.

Hotel das Virtudes is the perfect boutique hotel ... beautifully designed, unsurpassed service and personal attention, every detail considered, fabulous cocktails and Michelin star restaurant that serves a complimentary lavish breakfast to all hotel huests.Canot praise it enough!

There is no signage to direct you to the hotel . However once you find it , down a cobblestone lane , the hotel is just lovely ! Definitely would highly recommend it !

A beautiful hotel in a great location within easy walking distance of the river and the historical centre up the hill. We relaxed as soon as we walked through the door and all of the staff made us feel very welcome. Having a small balcony to sit out on and admire the stunning red rooftops made it perfect. Would love to go back one day.

Great hotel near the Douro and easy to catch the path to walk to Foz, etc. Not super central, but the staff is amazing and the rooms are spacious and clean. Food was above average and the rooftop bar is lovely.

The staff are wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is clean, comfortable and in a great position. Quiet but not too far from the main area's. Hopefully we will come back to Porto and stay at this lovely hotel again.

A real gem in the heart of Porto!

This was a great hotel. Super affordable and had all the best and luxurious amenities. The staff was extremely helpful and kind and they even upgraded my room! The only minor issue for me personally was that the room service food wasn't that great but the breakfast was amazing!

Perfect stay in Porto
Perfect stay in Porto! Old renovated building with very nice decoration. Very quiet street and close to Ribeira square. Excellent service and very good value for money for a 5 star hotel. I would definitely recommend!!

In one word, our stay at Hotel das Virtudes was PERFECTION! We were greeted with an incredibly warm welcome from all the staff and this continued throughout our stay. The attention to detail in both the customer service and food was exceptional. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this hotel as a base for sightseeing in wonderful Porto.

Make your reservation at Hotel Das Virtudes!!
The Virtudes hotel was really amazing. The property is beautiful and the rooms are large and very comfortable. There are small balconies on each room and 2 separate rooms. Beds are super comfy and amenities are plenty! The breakfast buffet was delicious! All of staff were professional, helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend this property. It is in a more quiet area and there is an uphill climb to downtown. Walking takes 10-15 mins and Ubers are plentiful!!

Beautiful modern renovation with features of the original old stone construction left intact and integrated. Great job of marrying the old and new. The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. It’s a new hotel and they try very hard and are exceptionally well trained and make you feel so taken care of (even walking down the little cobblestone road to insist on carrying your luggage up to the hotel when the taxis can’t get all the way to the door.

Gorgeous hotel with beautiful finishes that blend elegantly with this one of a kind 16th century UNESCO protected building. Staff are experienced professionals that are dedicated to making your stay perfect. Excellent service all around. Breakfast buffet is unlike any other with many fresh and delicious options that are beautifully presented. Our room had a hidden sitting area and balcony with a lovely view of the neighbourhood. We will definitely come back to this one of a kind, very special property.

Everything about this place was amazing, if I’m ever lucky enough to go back to Porto I will definitely be staying there. The staff was super friendly from the minute we arrived, the bartenders were amazing and incredibly talented. Our room was so cool and so well appointed. For a building that’s been around since the 1600s it was very comfortable and modern in the hotel room. And the breakfast every day could not be beat. You will feel truly spoiled if you stay there.

The hotel is very new, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nice as well. Although I knew the property was about a 10 minute, easy walk to the center of old Porto, I didn't realize that it was in a more run down area of town.

We are so glad we chose Hotel das Virtudes for our visit to Porto. First, the hotel staff is first rate. It was our first time in Portugal, so we had a lot of questions and they were always available and anxious to help. They were very patient with us--really wanting us to be able to relax and enjoy their wonderful city. The hotel is back off the main road, so it is somewhat secluded and quiet, but it is a short walk from where all the action is. We felt safe and we had a beautiful view from our balcony. The building is historic, but it has all the modern conveniences including air conditioning and wifi. The bus/tram stop is very convenient and the hotel staff was always willing to call a taxi when we needed one. The breakfast buffet was awesome! They have anything you could want, but our favorites were the homemade yogurt and the honeycomb. I recommend going down early for the best selection. On two different mornings, we had to leave early for organized tours, so the hotel staff even provided a breakfast box for our trip! The housekeeping staff also does an excellent job. They gave us a bottle of fresh water each morning and then returned in the evening to put chocolate on our pillow. We really felt pampered the whole time. There are certainly cheaper options, but I believe the value is excellent considering all of the services provided. We wholeheartedly recommend Hotel das Virtudes as the perfect base for exploring Porto and northern Portugal.

Beautiful renovated hotel. Quite new I think. Busy when we were there. Nice rooms. The only fault is the odd drip coffee bags in the rooms that fall into your cup. Just use Nespresso or similar as no one wants to mess about with your current set up.

Possibly the nicest and most comfortable hotel I’ve ever stayed in. From the check in, which took minutes and our bags had already been delivered to our room, from the large room and biggest bed I’ve ever slept in, to the breakfast buffet and cozy bar, I could not imagine a single detail that wasn’t thought of. Glass elevator, rooftop bar, and ideal location. This is the best place in Porto with the best staff.

We ended up switching hotels after our first night in Porto, primarily to get a more spacious room with additional amenities. Hotel das Virtudes turned out to be an excellent choice. We had the room with 2 levels and it was perfect for our needs. Meaning, my wife could get up early and have coffee outside on the terrace while I kept sleeping off the bottle of wine from the night before. But seriously, the rooms are nice, beds are comfortable, and the hotel itself is very beautiful. I enjoyed the rooftop lounge each night before heading to dinner and the breakfast each morning was excellent. While Porto has lots of hills the location of this hotel is great...quiet yet very close to great restaurants and shopping. We ubered to certain places and it was cheap and easy to do so anytime. Note that if you use Uber Black there's only 4 in town so you may wait a bit longer. If you're heading to Porto, definitely consider this place.
