The Garden of Camellias is located in a small typical and picturesque walking street of cobblestone in the romantic neighbourhood of Foz, a classified heritage site. It is just a few steps away from the beach, the river and the Passeio Alegre Park and it takes only around 15 minutes to get to the city centre by public transportation.
This charming three-storey house was beautifully renovated in 2017 by the architect Pedro Jervell. The design is very fresh, clean and airy. While the fine steel craftsmanship adds a cool vintage industrial vibe to the interiors, the subtle lighting and the beautiful wood-paneled walls gently bring a feeling of warmth and comfort. There is a sense uniqueness and cosiness, a tranquil atmosphere that feels like home...
The luminous and spacious living and dining area is an expression of timeless elegance, showcasing a refined eclectic décor on a off-white palette enhanced with ocean blue accents. Different layers of textures and materials are blissfully blended with the white cement floor and walls as well as with the beamed attic ceiling cropped by big skylights. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom on the top floor.
All the four bedrooms were individually decorated. Each one of them features a large comfortable wide bed, well-appointed furnishings and an en-suite bathroom, ensuring high quality and great comfort standards. The two bedrooms that are on the groundfloor overlooking the quiet charming street feature rich leather armchairs against an uplifting background that mixes earth-toned and nature-inspired elements. The bedrooms on the first floor are more spacious and display sophisticated contemporary furniture. Natural light is enhanced by using chic metal accents, mirrors and glass that nicely standout from the neutral color scheme of the rooms.
Guests can also take some time to relax and unwind to the sound of birds singing in the idyllic backyard. The old cobblestone pathway flanked by aromatic shrubs and graceful rosetrees leads to this quiet retreat's centerpiece, the old well behind which camellias trees align. At the end of the backyard there is a nice sundeck with restful lounge chairs.
The use of the garden is exclusive for the guests that are staying both at the house and at the apartments of the Garden of Camellias.
Linen, towels, toiletries, and daily cleaning service are included in the standard rate. There is free high-speed wifi in all the property.
