"I lovw the property. Great views and room. Downside: The golf cart should work after 10pm otherwise you have to walk up the hill freezing cold or raining. "
"Location is beautiful, food was very good both breakfast and dinner. Weird spacing in the bathroom...could barely maneuver on the toilet as the shower is so close. The floors are old and creaky as was the bed springs mattress...very bouncy...boing boing boing. Core staff is from Sri Lanka and very much wanting to serve and please. But overall we had a lovely quiet stay. "
"This was our second stay here. We stayed in 2023 and loved it. We were so happy that there was an available apartment for us this year. Kitchen is fully equipped with instruction manuals available for the appliances, shower was wonderful. The is something very calming with going to sleep to the sound of lambs bleating and waking up with them scampering around close to you. Would go again. "
"Wonderful place, wonderful people. The staff was so friendly and helpful, as were the other guests. The kitchen and common living space were especially spacious and humongously homey. The only downside was that the road near the close-by fairy pools was filled (unfilled?) with potholes- which really has nothing to do with the hostel and I don’t need to note that in this review. 10/10, I’ll definitely be staying here again next I visit Skye- which is ASAFP (As Soon As Financially Possible)."
"The hotel has a great vibe and the staff are lovely. The views are incredible. The restaurant wad busy but the staff were great. Portions were generous and the food was good.
Our only real complaint was our room #31. I understand old hotels don’t have lifts, so it’s a long way up to the top floor with luggage. Our room had water damage around the windows. One of the windows was taped shut. New drywall wasn’t even patched. Stains on the wallpaper around the walls by the windows. A painting for the wall was in closet and wall plugs left dangling on the wall where it hung. When the wind picked up the window and possible exterior sheathing kept rattling. As we left we saw other rooms open that were being cleaned. They were in much better shape.
That room should have been repaired before being used."
"Very old and tired hotel. Beds were hard, pillows were flat. Amenities were few.
Breakfast was good. But for the price you are paying, it was not good value."
Charming 3-bedroom cottage in Aird of Sleat with ocean-view and WiFi.
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely little cottage in southern Skye, stunning views of the rugged coastline and sea and a thrill ride of a road for the last few miles. Ideal for relaxing and a good starting point for exploring the rest of the Island.
Highly recommended if you are happy to self-cater, the cottage is fully equipped and extremely comfortable."
"The location was fantastic, with great views, tucked away and quiet, but still close enough to drive to places in Isle of Skye easily. The road up is quite narrow, and lots of potholes (at time of writing), so best to drive up first time in the day. The accommodation was spacious, with plenty of beds and living areas.Everything else was just ok, not great, but functional. The property is in need of some TLC, repairs and updating, which I think will help improve it in the future. Things like doors coming off cupboards, barely any usable curtains in the TV room, bath not functional (at time of writing), instructions writing on walls (instead of having a guidebook or set of instructions). I think updating the furniture and decor would go a long way too.Overall this accommodation location/view and size is fantastic, and has a lot of potential, but fell a bit short for me."
