Everything was new, clean and beautiful. We had access to a fully functional kitchen with everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable, the bathrooms were new and clean, and Victoria at the front desk was incredibly lovely and helpful. The view was stunning and proximity to all the amenities, but far away enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. Loved every minute of our stay.

The room itself was a fantastic find, a comfortable suite overlooking the lake with a fireplace and plenty of room for my family. As of my visit in December 2025, the campus is undergoing significant renovation, so the internal aesthetics aren't ideal, and it's not really easy to move around the complex, but that was only a minor inconvenience. The on-site breakfast is overpriced for what you get, but you can choose any number of other options within walking distance. The quality of the room and kindness of the service well outweighed those modest downsides.

Loved our room and view. Understand that there is a building programme but that really impacts access and parking. Great walk lakeside in to Queenstown. Shuttle takes away most of our transport issues during our stay.

Great place to stay with kids as we had 2 rooms with bathrooms very nicely renovated.parking wasn't great as new building was under construction staff where great and shuttle was a bonus

Lots of construction going on, but this only was a hassle for parking and access if you have a large vehicle, absolutely no construction noise in rooms at all. Once in, the room was amazing. Warm, amazing location and views to die for. right on the lake and access to walking track

Newly renovated rooms, excellent view, friendly staff. Loved every moment of our trip. Bed was comfy. Definitely recommend. will stay here again for sure. Renovation was going on but not bothering to us. Car park was a bit challenging at times. Make sure to get a car park pass.

Great location with beautiful scenic mountains and lake.The resort was great excellent staff were very friendly attended to all your needs. One bedroom apartment very big comfortable bed, great experience would highly recommend.

We had the 2 bedroom penthouse with the spa. Views were unmatched which is what we wanted. Daily cleans. Comes with full kitchen and laundry. There is currently construction happening but didn’t impact our stay at all. What did impact us unfortunately was the TV reception was terrible and the chrome cast kept cutting out which was a shame as we wanted to spend most of our time in the apartment admiring our he views and enjoying movies and tv series.

The Oaks Shores are currently part way through a major renovation. The renovated rooms are of a high standard. The 2 bedroom lake view apartment was perfect for our stay of 4 friends. Very spacious and well equipped with incredible views. The carpark and temporary reception area is not ideal but we note this is only temporary while to rest of the renovation is completed. We will definately be back!

The hotel is currently under construction, although you won’t hear a single construction noise and the views over the lake and mountains were very nice. But…to call it a 4.5* hotel without the 4.5* service and amenities that is a bit of a far stretch. The hotel is currently under construction, meaning there’s no room service, restaurants, drinks or a proper meal or morning coffee. Uber eats would be your best option for the duration. The staff even suggested for me to go to Rees (hotel next door) for dinner and drinks. Same staff are friendly and some are not that friendly. Walkway, driveway, corridor are all very tight. Parking spots are extremely limited and you need to book a spot in advance. For a 4.5* hotel, luxury and convenience were not present.
