The COVID-19 outbreak has changed the way we travel, but it hasn't done away with our lust for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to tackle travel's new challenges:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking your flight. Also check if there are any special conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as testing and quarantining.
• You're required to wear a face mask at the airport, including at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked.
• Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. Then, hold it up for inspection.
• You're allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. You'll have to remove it for screening.
• Put any personal items (phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you're planning to take food through the screening checkpoint, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA employee will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for inspection.
