Cozy Creekside Cabin + Walking Trails

  • Explore the over 5 acres of land included with our Private cabin. Enjoy the sounds and sights of Powdermill Run Creek while nestled up on the patio or screened in porch. Take in the 2,200 acres of woodlands, streams, fields, ponds while you hike on the trails of Powdermill Nature Reserve. Have a fire in the smokeless stove next to the creek or cook a woodfire pizza in the stone oven. Bring your tenants, outdoor games and any other outdoor activities to make your stay special.

    The cabin includes an open living room and kitchen on the first floor, as well as a full bathroom with shower and bath. The entryway has a futon and can provide an additional private sleeping area if desired. The large loft on the second floor includes a king size bed, a single bed, and a queen size sofa bed.

Is a very peaceful location the house is quite charming. The only downfall is they make it seem like you are very isolated. You are you are not there are houses within a stone throw away. The creek is perfect for children and pets and it has a nice size yard. Another downfall, which is the one neighbor has a golden retriever that likes to keep paying a visit.

We had a great weekend at the cabin. The kids enjoyed playing in the creek all weekend. It was quiet and peaceful. We visited the nearby nature center and hiked around the stream. Definitely would like to come back and stay again.

Relaxing!

Outside area is just perfect! So relaxing with the creek. Mostly shaded, which was very nice. We even made a wood oven pizza! Sooo good!

Quiet and rustic getaway

We stayed for 5 days. We found plenty to do and see. The cabin is small and quaint. Quite a lovely place to stay. All sleep accommodations are in one room in the upstairs loft, though I suppose someone could sleep on the downstairs couch. This was fine for us as we are a married couple traveling on our own. For anyone wanting to travel with others there would be limited privacy. There are stairs down to the cabin, stairs to get into the cabin, steep stairs up to the loft. We are in our sixties and my husband has bilateral hip replacement and we were able to handle the stairs just fine----but if stairs are challenging for you....this is good to know. Also, to take a shower you must step into a tallish tub. For most folks, none of this is a problem, but for some it's good to know. The host was very good about communicating the check in and check out process---both of which are very easy. I have never had an easier check out process. Basically, all you need to do is pack up your stuff and take it with you when you go. The area around the cabin is scenic and beautiful. This is a great place to stay.

Lovely stay. Couldn’t ask for a better backyard. Even on a cold, rainy weekend, the fireplace, music, and view of the water from the sofa made for a cozy, warm stay. You could also hear the water rushing from inside making for a perfect sleep. Super relaxing stay. Thx!
